Aimee Song Celebrates Son Milo’s Second Birthday with Family and Friends

Aimee Song, the renowned influencer and entrepreneur, recently marked a significant milestone in her family’s life as her son Milo turned two years old. With a passion for creative celebrations, she teamed up with Minted to curate a delightful “Cruisin’ Into Two” transportation-themed party that encapsulated her child’s interests and brought together close friends and family.

In an interview, Song revealed the whirlwind preparations that preceded the event, noting the family’s travelling plans meant they would not be in Los Angeles on Milo’s actual birthday. Realising this just two weeks prior, she quickly initiated the party planning process. “I immediately started looking for inspiration on Minted, where I found the cutest transportation-themed invitation,” she shared.

Reflecting on Milo’s fascination, she remarked, “It felt so ‘Milo’ because he’s completely obsessed with anything that moves: cars, airplanes, rockets, buses, etc.” To encapsulate this theme, Song selected the Adventure Begins design by Minted artist Creo Study for the invitations, thank you cards, and favour tags, crafting a cohesive look for the celebration.

Once the stationery was ordered, Song found it easier to conceptualise the entire event. “Having the stationery first made every decision after that so much easier because I already had a clear vision to work from,” she explained. With the exciting theme established, she began to consider the entertainment and activities suitable for a gathering of toddlers.

Song expressed her belief that children’s birthday parties should maintain a relaxed atmosphere for both children and parents. “The last thing parents want to do is spend two hours chasing their kids around while juggling snacks and meltdowns,” she said. “This isn’t my first rodeo.” She decided that a carousel would be the main attraction, fitting perfectly with the party’s transportation theme while also providing endless fun for the youngsters.

In addition to the carousel, a selection of sensory stations was introduced to keep the children engaged in a calm manner. Given her experience with more raucous activities, she opted for these sensory tables knowing they would allow parents a chance to unwind while their kids played.

For the adults present, a dedicated Pit Stop Café was established within her home. Offering coffee, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, lemonade, and a fruit cart, Song described this element as “the biggest win of the day,” allowing parents an opportunity to relax amidst the festivities.

The day was made all the more meaningful by the presence of family and friends. Song shared her joy in seeing loved ones come together to celebrate Milo. “My best friend Ira flew in from San Francisco just for the day. My other best friend, Cuit, postponed his trip to Mexico so he could help us set everything up and celebrate Milo,” she recounted, emphasising the strength of her support network.

Song also acknowledged the contributions of her sister and friends who assisted with the children in the lead-up to the event. Her partner Jacopo Moschin played a pivotal role behind the scenes. “It reminded me how lucky we are to have such an incredible village around us. That was by far the most meaningful part of the day,” Song reflected.

As Milo approaches his third year, Song is filled with excitement for future family adventures, particularly in relation to their travels. “There were a few trips this past year that Milo had to skip because, let’s be honest, travelling with a one-year-old isn’t exactly a vacation. It’s hard,” she admitted.

Looking ahead, she is eager to embark on new experiences with Milo, especially opportunities for him to connect with his grandparents in Italy. “Those memories are going to be so special for all of us,” she added, highlighting the importance of family bonds.
