Alli Dore, a former star of *Below Deck Sailing Yacht*, has recently opened up about her body transformation following a rib recontouring procedure. The 38-year-old reality television personality took to Instagram to share before-and-after photos, proclaiming that the procedure might just be the best decision she has made for herself.

In her post, Dore expressed her enthusiasm for the changes to her body. “Just under halfway at 5.5 weeks out of 12 and already convinced this is the best thing I’ve done,” she wrote, showcasing her newly slimmed waist. The rib recontouring procedure, which Dore underwent, is performed using liposuction to reshape the lower ribs, rather than removing them. According to Snatched Waist, the clinic where she had the procedure, patients are required to wear a corset during their recovery to help maintain the new shape.
Dore’s decision, however, has not come without criticism. Following her Instagram reveal, the comments section of her post featured a blend of praise and scorn from online observers. Dore responded directly to some of those who questioned her choice, firmly asserting that she feels more confident and better looking after the procedure. One commenter stated, “Why why why?? Looked better before,” to which Dore confidently replied, “I look way better” in her after images.

Body image discussions are complex and subjective. Dore has acknowledged this, pointing out that some of the negative comments could stem from what is commonly known as body dysmorphia. “The type of people who like to take down others on the internet by commenting and criticising the way they look are actually not the type of people whose opinions matter to me,” she stated, addressing the online negativity head-on.
Dore has also shared insight into her journey of self-acceptance. She made it clear that the only opinion that carries weight concerning her body is her own. Responding to another follower’s remark about her appearance, she expressed, “Guess who’s the only opinion that matters when it’s my body? Mine. Shocking I know.” This sentiment highlights her commitment to self-love, stating she feels fortunate to care for herself, thus preventing external criticism from affecting her mental state.

The motivation behind Dore’s decision to undergo the procedure stemmed from her experiences after giving birth to her son in 2021. Prior to the surgery, she shared in a video how becoming a mother had radically altered her body. “Having a baby, it just changes your body so much,” she remarked, highlighting the sacrifices mothers often make. Dore mentioned the desire for “the perfect body” and stressed that there is nothing shameful about wanting to feel good in one’s skin.
In discussing societal beauty standards, Dore reflected on the evolution of body ideals. She recalled growing up in the era of Paris Hilton, where extreme thinness was idolised, followed by a shift to the “hourglass” figure popularised by celebrities like Kim Kardashian. Dore emphasised that while opinions on her body would vary, what mattered most was her own comfort and self-perception: “Don’t listen to the haters,” she advised.
The reality star has a history of engaging with cosmetic procedures, having had several prior surgeries. She maintains that her choices are a personal matter and nothing to be ashamed of. For Dore, achieving an hourglass shape while maintaining a lean physique constitutes her idea of the perfect body.
As Dore continues to navigate her post-procedure journey, she stands firm in her belief that self-empowerment and personal satisfaction are paramount. Despite the mixed feedback from fans and critics alike, her focus remains on nurturing herself and embracing the changes she has chosen.
