Renowned actor Luke Wilson recently shared an amusing encounter that highlights the unexpected quirks of celebrity. During a recent episode of the *Out of Order* podcast, Wilson revealed that he momentarily forgot the name of Emmett Richmond, the character he portrayed in the beloved film *Legally Blonde* and its sequel.

Describing the incident, the 54-year-old actor recounted a playful interaction he had with a group of young fans while dining at a Mexican restaurant in Dallas. The fans, a small group of girls aged around eight to ten, recognised him and excitedly approached, asking, “Are you Emmett?” Initially taken aback, Wilson replied, “No, I’m not Emmett,” which elicited laughter from the children as they retreated momentarily, appearing confused.

In his recollection, Wilson said, “They were like, ‘You’re Emmett,’” and despite their insistence, he humorously insisted, “Girls, I don’t — where are your parents? I don’t know who Emmett is and I don’t know what you’re talking about.” His response was unexpected; it is not every day that an actor forgets a character that has, in many ways, shaped their career.

After some back and forth, the children finally reminded Wilson that he had starred in *Legally Blonde*, prompting him to recall his character. “Oh, Emmett,” he exclaimed. Realising his oversight, he added, “I don’t even know my character’s name.” With a chuckle, he then offered to pose for a photograph with the delighted fans.
