Pia Toscano, best known for her time on “American Idol,” has announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Carmen Educate. The couple, who wed in November 2024, are set to welcome a baby girl in December. Toscano, 37, expressed her delight, saying that becoming a mother has been a lifelong aspiration of hers.

The joyous news came to light when Toscano discovered she was pregnant on April 13, a date of personal significance as she connects it to her late grandfather, whom she affectionately calls Grandpa Jay. Toscano considers this date her “angel number,” and she described the moment as deeply emotional. “It felt like such a meaningful sign and made an already emotional moment feel even more personal,” she recalled.
In interviews, Toscano shared that the excitement of telling family and friends about the pregnancy was filled with joy, resulting in “so many happy tears.” She emphasised how important it was to share this milestone with those who have supported them throughout their journey. Just a day after receiving the news, Toscano flew to Mexico City to perform with Andrea Bocelli, illustrating her commitment to her career even amid life-changing news.
Navigating her early pregnancy, the singer reported that her experience has largely been positive, apart from experiencing typical fatigue during the first trimester. Notably, she was fortunate to avoid nausea, attributing much of her well-being to the support of her husband. “He’s been amazing throughout this entire experience,” Toscano said, noting Educate’s efforts in making her comfortable and well-fed. “Having his support has made this journey even more special.”
As cravings have become a regular topic of discussion for expecting mothers, Toscano revealed her penchant for both salty and sweet foods, admitting to enjoying combinations that may seem unconventional. “I remember pineapple with tortilla chips being a big one for me,” she said. Her current favourite includes an everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese, showcasing her unique flavour preferences.
As the couple anticipates the arrival of their daughter, they have begun the process of selecting names, considering options that honour their Italian heritage. Toscano shared that while they have a few names in mind, they believe they will ultimately know the right name once they meet their baby. “We may have to wait until she’s here to know which name feels like it was meant for her,” she explained.
Reflecting on her path to motherhood, Toscano expressed gratitude for the journey that has led her here.
