Conair has announced a recall of over 12,000 units of its Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill, which has a built-in pizza oven. This decision comes after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) received 37 reports of the tempered glass window, situated in the pizza oven, shattering during use.

The CPSC’s report indicates a significant risk of injury from laceration hazards associated with the grill. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries linked to these incidents, but the situation highlights serious concerns regarding consumer safety. The recall was officially announced on Thursday, 9 July, 2023, and affects products sold across various retailers including Lowe’s, Walmart, and through the Cuisinart website.

The affected model is identified by the number CGG-6331, which can be found on a label located on the inside of the grill’s right-hand metal door. Additionally, the grills were available for purchase between December 2024 and May 2026, retailing for prices ranging from £500 to £750. A total of 12,660 units were sold in the United States, with a further 83 units distributed in Canada.

Consumers who own this grill have been advised to cease using it immediately. The CPSC has urged affected customers to visit Conair’s official website to determine if their grill is part of the recall. For those who confirm they have an affected unit, the process for obtaining a refund is clearly outlined.
To initiate the refund process, owners must carefully remove the tempered glass window from the pizza oven. Conair has stipulated that customers should then submit two photographs through their website: one showing the removed glass and another displaying the grill’s serial number. This verification step is important to ensure the safety of the recall process.
Once Conair verifies the submitted information, customers will be issued a refund of £500 or reimbursed for the original purchase amount if they provide proof of receipt. In an additional precautionary measure, customers are advised to write the word “Recall” on the tempered glass with a permanent marker before disposing of it, ensuring it cannot be used inadvertently.
For any queries or support, Conair has provided a toll-free contact number, where representatives are available to assist customers from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. Alternatively, customers can visit Conair’s website for further information and detailed instructions.
This recall serves as a vital reminder for consumers to regularly check product safety alerts and recalls, particularly for household appliances that carry operational risks. It is always advisable to stay informed and take proactive steps to ensure safety in the kitchen and beyond.
