At the recent world premiere of *The Odyssey* in London, Robert Pattinson spoke highly of his co-star Zendaya, declaring her to be “the best” while reflecting on their unique experiences working together on multiple film projects. The premiere took place on July 6, with the film itself set to hit theatres on July 17.

Pattinson, known for his role in *Twilight*, recounted a surprising experience from the production of *The Odyssey*. He admitted that while they were filming, he didn’t even recognise Zendaya on set, despite the fact that they have collaborated on three upcoming movies slated for release in 2026. “I didn’t know that she was on the set the day that she was shooting,” he told PEOPLE. “It’s so strange. We were so far away from each other, and I didn’t even recognise her — I didn’t even say hi.”

In *The Odyssey*, which is directed by Christopher Nolan, Pattinson takes on the role of Antinous, a dubious suitor vying for the affections of Penelope, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. Zendaya, 29, plays Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare, a significantly different role that distances her from the earthly characters within the story.

Pattinson and Zendaya recently shared the screen in *The Drama*, which was released earlier this year in April. Following *The Odyssey*, they will reunite once again in *Dune: Part Three*, which is scheduled to premiere on December 18. Their growing collaborative history has prompted Pattinson to comment on Zendaya’s talent, stating, “She’s the best. So fun, so fun to hang out with, such a great actress.”
Earlier in January, while speaking to GQ, Pattinson revealed that he had not yet seen Zendaya’s performance in *The Odyssey*. He acknowledged her remarkable talents, claiming, “She’s incredible in *The Drama* as well and in all of them.” His admiration for her work illustrates a strong camaraderie between the two stars.
During a trailer reveal event for *Dune: Part Three* in March, Pattinson lightheartedly noted that Zendaya had a hand in his casting for the sci-fi series. After conversing with her on the set of *The Drama*, he cheekily inquired if he could join the *Dune* franchise. “I know a guy,” Zendaya jested, a reference to her role and influence in the film.
Accompanying Pattinson and Zendaya in *The Odyssey* is an impressive ensemble cast that features prominent actors such as Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, and Charlize Theron. This star-studded lineup has generated considerable anticipation for the film’s release.
Following *The Odyssey*, Zendaya is also set to appear in *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, which is hitting theatres on July 31. Meanwhile, Pattinson has several projects lined up, including *Primetime*, *Here Comes the Flood*, and *The Batman: Part II*.
As promotions for *The Odyssey* continue, both Pattinson and Zendaya demonstrate their enthusiasm not only for their current projects but also for their established partnership through their shared filmography. The success of these films will undoubtedly further solidify their standing within Hollywood, as they both continue to evolve and impress audiences with their exceptional talent.
