A mother from Arizona has managed to blend nostalgia and modern childhood celebrations by hosting a birthday party inspired by the iconic 2000s brand, Limited Too, for her daughter. Hayley Jamison marked Hunter Paige’s second birthday with a retro-themed celebration reminiscent of the colourful, vibrant stores that many millennials remember from their youth.

Jamison, 35, shared the inspiration for the theme came from a late-night chat with friends, all of whom are millennial mothers. One of her friends stumbled across the idea on TikTok during a nighttime nursing session and quickly relayed it to Jamison, who couldn’t resist bringing the concept to life for her daughter’s special day.
With the assistance of event planner Marie Avila from AZ Events by Marie, and the venue Jordan’s Corner, Jamison transformed the space into a tribute to Limited Too, complete with butterfly clips, fluffy pens, and the pop tunes that defined the era. Avila noted that designing for this theme was particularly exciting, allowing her to incorporate all the nostalgic elements that shaped the early 2000s, characterised by bright colours, glitter, and whimsical designs.
Upon entering the venue, Jamison and her husband Patrick were thrilled with the result of Avila’s creative vision. “When they walked into the room, they were beyond excited,” Avila recounted. “Seeing their reaction made all the hard work worthwhile.”
The event featured various attractions, including a glam station for the children with mini mirrors and accessories, alongside a slushy bar and themed signage that mirrored the essence of the popular store. Avila aimed to create an immersive experience, where every detail contributed to a magical atmosphere that echoed the previous generation’s experiences.
One of the highlights for Hayley was observing her daughter’s delight at the glam station. “When she saw all the butterfly clips and hair glitter, she was thrilled,” she said. The sight of Hunter enjoying the same accessories she adored as a child filled Jamison with a sense of nostalgia and joy. “It just felt so nostalgic to see through her eyes what we all felt like as little girls going to Limited Too,” she reflected.
Expressing her pride, Jamison described Hunter as a cool, confident individual who is “incredibly smart and funny.” The mother of two mentioned that years of IVF struggles preceded Hunter’s birth, making the celebration even more meaningful for the family. “It’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to my husband and me,” she shared with enthusiasm.
Janell Panicko, founder of Jordan’s Corner, expressed her excitement about hosting the first Limited Too-themed party at their venue. Citing the overwhelming positive feedback from guests, she predicted this theme could spark future events highlighting the same nostalgic feelings and childhood exploits.
The celebration was accompanied by a soundtrack of early 2000s pop music, cementing the trip down memory lane. Hayley remembered a particular moment when Hilary Duff’s hit “This Is What Dreams Are Made Of” played at the right moment, adding to the spirit of the gathering. Many attendees spent time reliving their own childhoods at the glam station, showcasing how such themes resonate with both parents and their children.
Reflecting on the success of the party, Hayley joked about the heightened expectations for future celebrations. “The bar has been set,” she laughed, contemplating how to replicate the joy of this memorable occasion without overshadowing it. With a new baby, Johnny Kash, it’s likely that more thematic celebrations will soon follow.
