A tragic incident has unfolded in Collinsville, Oklahoma, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Amber Lee, following a dispute with her boyfriend. The police have reported that Lee, also known as Amber Pippin, was struck and fatally injured by a vehicle driven by her estranged partner, Tyler Kendrick, aged 39. The event occurred on Friday, July 3, during what authorities describe as a domestic-related altercation.

According to Collinsville Police Chief Matt Burke, officers responded to an emergency call regarding a woman who had been struck by a vehicle at a local QuikTrip store. Upon their arrival, they learned that Lee had been transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Amber Lee was a mother of seven children, their ages ranging from three to eighteen. The situation reportedly escalated after Lee and Kendrick met to exchange personal belongings. A friend of Lee’s had driven her to Kendrick’s residence for this purpose and then returned her to the QuikTrip where she had parked her own vehicle.

Details from the police indicate that once they arrived at the store, Kendrick was already present, parked behind Lee’s car. However, a witness to the incident reported that an argument ensued concerning the return of Kendrick’s belongings, which prompted a heated exchange. As tensions flared, Lee’s friend attempted to intervene, but Kendrick drove away, inadvertently running over Lee in the process.
The police chief explained that Kendrick’s dual-rear-wheel pickup truck backed into Lee, causing her tragic injuries. Burke speculated that Lee was struck and pulled beneath the truck’s rear wheels, leading to severe trauma. Initial observations hinted at a significant injury, described as a six-to-eight-inch gash on her thigh, which could have resulted in a severed artery.
Authorities are awaiting the findings of the medical examiner, which will provide an official cause of death. However, Chief Burke has expressed a sentiment of negligence rather than intent regarding Kendrick’s actions. He stated, “We don’t believe the suspect intended to necessarily harm her, but we do believe his negligent actions led to her death.”

Lee’s mother, Dena Schnorrenberg, shared her heartbreak in an interview, describing her daughter as a dedicated and nurturing parent who cherished her family deeply. “This is going to be hard. It’s my first child. She was my best friend,” Schnorrenberg conveyed, emphasising the profound impact of her daughter’s loss on their family.
In light of these events, Kendrick has been charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatality. Currently, he is being held in Tulsa County Jail, with an additional hold from the Cherokee Nation, of which he is a member. As of now, it remains uncertain whether he has secured legal representation.
This unfortunate incident has sparked discussions about the repercussions of emotional conflicts and the importance of maintaining composure during disputes. Chief Burke remarked on the broader implications of such situations, urging individuals to remain mindful of their surroundings and consider the potential consequences of their actions.
