A Texas father is expressing profound gratitude for the strangers who came to his aid following a serious car accident that could have claimed his life. Zach Seaback, a 23-year-old from Grimes County, was involved in a rollover crash on Highway 6 in Brazos County on June 17. He sustained life-threatening injuries, including a severe head injury.

Seaback’s distressing ordeal began when he attempted to navigate around a large truck. “I don’t remember much. I had an insane concussion,” he recounted. “I looked up and saw an 18-wheeler, and I tried to swerve around it. I clipped its tyre… I’m not really 100% positive what happened next. And then I rolled.” The impact left him disoriented and scared as he struggled to escape the wreckage.

In the chaotic moments after the crash, Seaback was unsure whether his vehicle was still on the road. “I didn’t know if I was on the highway or not,” he recalled. “So, I was terrified of another car hitting me from behind. I crawled to the back of the car, and those amazing people were there waiting for me.”
It was a group of good Samaritans who strove to keep Seaback calm while they awaited medical assistance. He praised their selflessness: “There were a lot of really nice people who gave me comfort. I just knew there was blood everywhere, and they kept telling me, ‘You’re going to be okay.’” The bystanders likely saved his life by keeping his head elevated and trying to stem the bleeding before the emergency services arrived.
The incident also took a toll on Seaback’s wife, Reality Molina. She was alerted to the crash through a Life360 notification, which notified her that her husband had been involved in an accident. “I was like, well, that can’t be real,” Molina said. As she attempted to contact him, a stranger answered the phone. “I’m assuming you’re his wife,” the man said, relaying that Seaback was alive but had sustained injuries.
Molina rushed to the scene, taking approximately 15 minutes to reach her husband. During that anxious drive, one of the bystanders remained on the phone with her, providing reassurance. “I stole comfort from those 15 minutes when I was rushing there,” she noted, highlighting her immense gratitude toward the stranger for his support.
Upon later inspection of the wrecked vehicle, Molina found a purple jacket that did not belong to them, which she believes was used by bystanders to shield Seaback from broken glass during his extraction from the car. Seaback estimated that the help from these kind strangers was crucial, given that it took emergency services 20 minutes to arrive at the scene. “In those 20 minutes, I probably wouldn’t have been alive without their help,” he asserted.
Currently, Seaback is still in hospital and facing additional surgery. He disclosed to reporters that he had lost a significant amount of blood, requiring potential skin grafts due to the severity of his scalp injuries. “I can’t tell you how many doctors and nurses have told me it’s a miracle he even made it out,” Molina said, reflecting on the extraordinary nature of her husband’s survival.
Despite the tragic circumstances, Seaback and Molina hold onto hope and are now desperate to locate the good Samaritans who came to their aid. “They really saved my life,” Seaback reiterated, expressing a strong desire to thank them personally for their kindness and quick action.
In light of the incident, Molina has urged fellow drivers to remain vigilant on the roads, particularly in areas experiencing construction and heavy traffic. She stressed, “This could have been anyone. I never thought in a million years it would be him.”
To help with the financial burden resulting from the accident, the family has set up a GoFundMe page to support Seaback’s medical expenses and provide for his family during this challenging time. “Zach will not be able to work for the foreseeable future, and his family is faced with mounting medical bills and ongoing household expenses,” the fundraising page states.
Overall, the Seaback family is navigating a particularly difficult period, but they are bolstered by the kindness of strangers and the hope for a brighter future as Zach continues his recovery. Their story serves as a reminder of the impact that good Samaritans can have and the unpredictability of life on the roads.
