Slayyyter’s latest album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, released in March, has soared to the top of the Billboard dance charts, spawning several viral hits. This achievement came just days before her much-anticipated Coachella debut, marking a significant turn in her career. “Coachella was life-changing,” she recalled, expressing her amazement at the impact the event had on her trajectory. “I feel like my head is still spinning from that one weekend,” she added.

During her performance at the festival, Slayyyter filled the Mojave Tent to capacity, delivering a show that many in attendance would not soon forget. Since then, she has continued to ride the wave of success, making her late-night television debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she performed her hit single “DANCE…”. Additionally, she has sold out numerous dates for her upcoming WOR$T GIRL IN THE WORLD TOUR, which is set to kick off in July.
The artist elaborated on the changing perception of her public image and her place within the music industry. “Sometimes it takes this magic wand of the general public liking something for everyone to be like, ‘Oh, oh, she’s cool now,’” she explained. Despite the fickle nature of fame, Slayyyter remains unbitter about her past struggles. “If this is the thing that people resonate with, I totally get it. It’s my favourite music I’ve made, too,” she remarked.
The shift in her career has brought a wave of recognition that Slayyyter finds both exhilarating and fleeting. “I feel like everyone’s kind of like, ‘Oh, you’re the girl now. You’re the girl of the moment,’” she said. However, she maintains a grounded perspective, acknowledging that such moments of fame can be brief. Much of her recent work, she explained, was born from times of self-doubt and a desire for validation. “It’s interesting to feel like a lot of this album was made about me feeling like such a loser,” she said.
In her conversation with V Magazine, Slayyyter also touched on the myriad talented artists who, for various reasons, struggle to gain widespread attention. “I feel very blessed that any of these opportunities are even coming at all, just because there are so many people who are so talented out there who people might not ever know about,” she expressed, recognising the challenges inherent in the music industry.
Reflecting on her process in creating WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, Slayyyter shared that she initially approached the project as if it might be her last effort in music. “I was really interested in making something I would be proud to leave behind,” she stated in a prior interview. This mindset allowed her to create on her own terms, leading to an album that she feels truly represents her artistic identity.
As Slayyyter embarks on this new chapter, she embodies the resilience and determination required to thrive in the competitive landscape of pop music. With her sights set on a bright future, she remains grateful for the opportunities that have come her way.
With her fresh sound and energetic performances, Slayyyter is poised to carve her niche even further in the ever-changing realm of pop music, leaving fans eager for what lies ahead.
