Authorities in Chambers County, Alabama, are investigating a grim double tragedy following the discovery of two bodies in a remote wooded area, allegedly linked to a domestic violence incident.
On June 10, police received an alarming report from a passerby who encountered a truck idling in the middle of the road with a door ajar and the tailgate lowered. This prompted a swift response from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, who dispatched deputies to the scene located near County Road 86 in Lanett.
Upon arrival, deputies uncovered the bodies of 47-year-old Jessica Folds and her boyfriend, 44-year-old Daniel Robbins. According to Chambers County District Attorney, Mike Segrest, Robbins is suspected of killing Folds before dying of a heart attack while attempting to dispose of her body. The autopsy results revealed that Folds had suffered from strangulation, while Robbins succumbed to a heart attack.
“It appears the male was attempting to dispose of the body in a remote location,” Segrest stated during a press briefing. “He died of a heart attack while doing it. Their bodies were right there together.”
