Kylie Jenner, the prominent beauty mogul, is facing another lawsuit regarding alleged workplace misconduct. This time, the claimant is a private chef who contends that the challenging working conditions contributed to her experiencing a miscarriage. The suit was filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on June 22, as reported by multiple media outlets, including *The Los Angeles Times* and *USA Today*.
In her complaint, the chef alleges that she was subjected to demanding shifts and stressful tasks during events for Jenner, despite informing her supervisors of her high-risk pregnancy. The chef began her employment with Jenner in November 2024 and claims that by December, she had already experienced a medical emergency while handling food items at an event. She stated that after struggling to breathe while transporting heavy items, she required assistance from security, yet was subsequently reprimanded for causing distress to Jenner.
A particularly concerning incident occurred on February 1, 2025, during a birthday celebration for one of Jenner’s children. The chef alleges that when she requested help, her supervisors ignored her pleas for support. This lack of assistance led to her suffering an emotional breakdown during the event due to exhaustion from the physical demands placed upon her.

Following this, the chef reported that she woke up the next morning in severe distress, having haemorrhaged and subsequently losing her unborn child. In her lawsuit, she asserts that after notifying her supervisors about her traumatic experience, she was accused of leaving the kitchen in disarray after the event, further compounding her sense of distress.

The allegations did not end there, as the chef claims she faced further complications related to her pregnancy in early February. After suffering another episode of haemorrhaging, she agreed to relocate to New York. However, her employer mischaracterised her communication about her medical condition and relocation as a voluntary resignation, according to her complaint. She was informed later in March 2025 that her assignment had been terminated.
In addition to Kylie Jenner, the chef has included the management firm Tri Star in her allegations, citing discrimination, harassment, and failure to accommodate her pregnancy-related needs, as well as violations concerning her wages. Reports indicate that a settlement offer was made by the management firm in May 2025, but no resolution was reached.
The chef’s legal representative, attorney Della Shaker, made a point to emphasise that celebrity status does not exempt individuals from adhering to California’s employment laws. Shaker expressed her determination to present the evidence in court and allow the details of the case to unfold.
This lawsuit is not an isolated incident for Jenner, as it follows two other lawsuits filed by former housekeepers. These housekeepers claimed they encountered mistreatment and discrimination while performing their duties. While the lawsuits do not directly accuse Jenner of discriminatory behaviour, they allege that mistreatment stemmed from other staff members working under her employment. In response to these earlier claims, representatives for Jenner did not provide any comments.
The private chef is seeking various forms of compensation through her lawsuit, including damages for emotional distress, lost wages, and other employment benefits. She has described experiencing severe anxiety, depression, and mental anguish as a result of her treatment while employed by Jenner.
As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how Jenner and her team will respond to these serious allegations. The outcome may have significant implications not only for Jenner, but also for the broader conversation around workplace standards and treatment, especially in high-pressure environments associated with celebrity culture.
