Stephen Kalyn has landed his first significant brand partnership, representing Verizon in a new campaign promoting their Simplicity plan. This exciting development comes shortly before Kalyn steps into the spotlight once again as he leads the second season of the popular Prime Video series, Off Campus.

At 28 years old, Kalyn has already made a name for himself as an actor. His role as Dean in Off Campus has garnered attention since the series debuted in May, and his recent collaboration with Verizon is expected to further enhance his profile. The campaign features a striking black-and-white video where Kalyn embodies a confident persona, dressed in a white tank top and black leather trousers, while delivering compelling messages tied to the wireless service.
In the advertisement, Kalyn exclaims, “It’s you. It’s only you. You’re the one,” while promising simplicity and clarity to potential customers. As INXS’s iconic track “Never Tear Us Apart” plays in the background, he powerfully declares, “Simple is sexy,” while showcasing his playful side by ripping off his tank top.
The response to the campaign has been enthusiastic, especially on social media. Kalyn shared clips from the ad on his Instagram account, leading fans to express their approval in the comments. Many seemed swayed by his magnetic presence, with one admirer humorously stating, “Fine, I’ll get Verizon. Didn’t know it was that serious,” while another added, “Thank you for your service…. Literally.” Kalyn’s fiancée, Victoria Lovatsis, also chimed in with a playful comment, further highlighting the support he has garnered from his personal circle.
As for Off Campus, Kalyn will be teaming up with co-star Mika Abdalla, who plays Allie, in the forthcoming season. The two characters were introduced midway through the show’s inaugural season, which adapted elements from Elle Kennedy’s book series titled The Score. The production team made the decision to shift the order of storylines for the screen, resulting in Dean and Allie’s relationship becoming a major focus for season two.
Showrunner Louisa Levy spoke to the logistical challenges involved in crafting the narrative. Initially, she had planned for Dean and Allie to have their own dedicated episode within a ten-episode season. However, with a shorter season confirmed at eight episodes, Levy had to adjust her approach. “We got eight, so I had to scrunch it, just a little bit, down,” she explained.
Levy also noted that having the characters of Dean and Allie already intertwined in the narrative allowed for a more organic development of their romance. “Allie and Hannah are already best friends, so they’re already baked into the show together. Dean, of course, is in the off-campus house, so he’s there,” she elaborated.
The showrunner highlighted that their love story starts as a secret within the context of the books. “I thought it would be really fun to keep it a secret from the audience and surprise the audience,” she added, suggesting that viewers are in for some unexpected twists.
Looking ahead, Levy reassured fans that there would still be “plenty of story to explore” regarding Dean and Allie in the upcoming season. She emphasised the exciting narrative potential, stating, “We still have plenty to play with with them, but being able to tee that up in this season was really fun.”
Off Campus is now available for streaming on Prime Video, and fans are eagerly anticipating the new season featuring Kalyn and Abdalla’s dynamic relationship. Meanwhile, Kalyn’s partnership with Verizon marks an important milestone in his burgeoning career, suggesting that both his professional and personal lives are currently thriving. As he balances brand endorsements and acting roles, it appears that Stephen Kalyn is set for an exhilarating chapter ahead.
