Finn Little is ready to seize the opportunity to showcase his talents in the next season of the hit series “Dutton Ranch.” The young actor, who portrays Carter, the adoptive son of Beth (played by Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser), recently shared his experiences filming with Hollywood veteran Annette Bening, who has joined the “Yellowstone” franchise as Beulah Jackson, a rival rancher.

In an interview with PEOPLE, the 20-year-old actor reflected on his time working with Bening and expressed a desire to make a better impression in the future. Although the pair spent some time together off-camera at a cast dinner, Little’s experience on set with Bening left much to be desired. He recounted a challenging day during the one scene they shared, which took place at the anniversary celebration of the 10-Petal Ranch.
“I had one scene with [Bening]. Man, I wish I could say it went better,” Little admitted. He described the day as a “rough day,” owing to nervousness that plagued him in front of the iconic actress. “I don’t know what it was. I had dry mouth or something,” he explained. This led to complications delivering his lines, as he found himself struggling to introduce himself and shake her hand.
Despite this setback, Little remains optimistic about the possibility of more interactions with Bening in the next season. “Hopefully, I get another chance to prove myself next season,” he said, looking forward to the future with excitement.
Conversely, Natalie Alyn Lind, who portrays Carter’s new love interest Oreana, had a more positive experience working with Bening. Lind expressed admiration for Bening’s talent and the lessons she gleaned from the actress. “From the beginning, doing these scenes with her, she has taught me so much by not even saying anything,” the 25-year-old said. She highlighted how Bening’s approach to character development offers invaluable insights, saying, “With her, I learn about 10 things a day.”
Bening herself expressed enthusiasm for joining the “Yellowstone” universe, crediting her desire to be a part of the spinoff largely to Reilly’s performances in the original series. “I was a fan of ‘Yellowstone,’ especially Kelly Reilly, to be honest,” Bening revealed. She admitted to being pleasantly surprised to learn Reilly is English, stating, “That’s incredible.”
Reflecting on her acting philosophy, Bening emphasised the importance of collaboration with other actors. “You’re really only as good as who you’re acting with,” she stated.
