‘Loving’ Mom Attacked by Shark During Morning Swim Remains on Life Support After ‘Extensive Surgery’

A woman remains critically injured and on life support following a shark attack at Coogee Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday, June 13. Leah Stewart, a 34-year-old teacher and mother, sustained severe and life-threatening injuries during her morning swim near the shore.

Joshua also clarified some misinformation circulating in the media regarding Leah’s age and that her partner, Fernando, was not attending the World Cup at the time of the attack, but was instead presenting at a conference overseas. Fernando returned to Australia immediately upon hearing about the incident and has been by Leah’s side since.
