In the episode, Weaver shared her decision with DCC director Kelli Finglass and choreographer Judy Trammell, explaining that she is ready to “move on to a new chapter.” Expressing her emotions, she stated, “I’m really excited about it, but it’s been hard to make that decision. But I’m emotional because of how grateful I am, truly.” This heartfelt moment underscored the significant impact her time with the team had on her life.

Weaver, who hails from Alabama, first joined the DCC in 2023 after graduating from the University of Alabama. Her journey to becoming a cheerleader was portrayed in the inaugural season of the series, where her audition showcased her long-held dream of pursuing a professional dance career. Her talent and determination quickly endeared her to fans, making her one of the standout personalities on the show.
Throughout her tenure, Reece faced challenges, including coping with the pressures that come with newfound fame. In her third season, she opened up about the complexities of her marriage to Will Allman, especially as they navigated their altered reality together. Married just before America’s Sweethearts premiered, the couple quickly found their lives transformed, with Allman leaving his power washing job to support Weaver’s burgeoning career. However, he acknowledged that their relationship had begun to feel more like a business partnership. “Our whole life has pretty much flipped,” he remarked, highlighting the difficulties they faced in maintaining a sense of normalcy.
As she contemplated her future, Weaver shared with Allman that while her teammates were a significant reason to stay with the DCC, she felt the need to explore her identity beyond cheerleading. Struggling with injuries during her final season compounded her decision-making process. When it came time to inform her colleagues of her retirement, she stated, “My cup is filled to the brim, and if my absence gives another girl an opportunity for her cup to be filled, then I consider that the greatest honour, leaving and moving forward.”
Following her retirement, the DCC’s leadership praised Weaver for her contributions to the team and acknowledged the promising opportunities that lay ahead for her. Finglass noted the difficulty in parting ways with such a devoted member, and Trammell encouraged her to embrace the next chapter of her life. “You’ve done a great job and left your mark here,” she affirmed.
Looking ahead, Reece and Will have expressed a desire to return to Alabama, with Weaver indicating that it may be time for them to head back home. She mentioned during filming that she could envision spending another year in Dallas while they figure out their next steps. In her aspirations, she shared hopes of advancing her dance career, obtaining a teaching certification, and eventually starting a family filled with pets.
In the months following her departure from the DCC, Weaver has remained active on social media, engaging her followers with various content, including her popular “Floral Friday” videos. In June 2026, she took a notable step into the spotlight as a guest announcer at Opry 100, introducing country artist Jordan Davis. This appearance highlighted her ongoing connection to the entertainment world post-cheerleading.
As of now, Reece Weaver has not publicly disclosed any detailed plans about her future or her anticipated move back to Alabama. Her fans continue to rally around her as she embarks on this new chapter, and many are eager to see what she will accomplish beyond the pom-poms and sequins of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
