Emilie Kiser, an influencer based in Arizona, has publicly shared her heart-wrenching experience following the tragic drowning of her three-year-old son, Trigg. Kiser appeared on Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ podcast on 17 June, marking her first interview since the devastating incident that claimed her son’s life in May 2025. In her conversation, she opened up about her profound grief and the challenges of parenting her one-year-old son, Teddy, amid such deep sorrow.

The tragedy occurred on 12 May 2025, when Trigg fell into the family’s backyard pool while Kiser was away from home. Her husband, Brady Kiser, was responsible for watching their younger child, Teddy, at the time. Unfortunately, Trigg was discovered unresponsive and subsequently hospitalised, but he tragically passed away six days later. An investigation by the Chandler Police Department revealed conflicting details, with Brady initially stating he lost sight of Trigg for a few minutes, while footage suggested the child had been unsupervised for over nine minutes.

Following the investigation, the police recommended that Brady face charges related to child abuse, but the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office later declared that he would not be prosecuted due to insufficient evidence for a conviction. In a statement made to the court, Emilie expressed her concern over the release of sensitive information and how it impacted their healing journey. She reiterated that her family’s love was genuine and how public perception could affect their emotional recovery.
In the months after the tragedy, Emilie has maintained an active presence on TikTok, where she often shares her grief and healing process with her 4.1 million followers. In one recent post, she addressed questions about her relationship with Brady, stating, “You don’t heal from the loss, you learn to live with the grief.” She attributed much of her coping mechanism to ongoing therapy and a focus on love and forgiveness.
As the first anniversary of Trigg’s passing approached this May, Emilie announced a temporary hiatus from social media. In a heartfelt video shared on 9 May, she expressed gratitude for the time spent away from online platforms, which allowed her to process her grief alongside her family. Upon returning on 1 June, she acknowledged the difficulty of that month, describing it as one of the hardest periods of their lives.
In the wake of Trigg’s drowning, Emilie has become an advocate for water safety, often emphasising that such incidents can be prevented. “Drowning is the number one cause of death for children aged three and under,” she noted in a recent TikTok video, highlighting the prevalence of such tragedies. Her aim is not only to honour her son’s memory but also to encourage parents to take proactive measures to safeguard their children around water.
She urged her audience to implement essential safety measures, including installing pool fences and maintaining functioning door alarms. Emilie’s passionate plea is intended to resonate with parents, encouraging them to prioritise safety as a key aspect of child-rearing to avoid similar heartbreaking situations.
Throughout her journey, Emilie Kiser has demonstrated incredible strength in the face of profound loss. By sharing her story, she hopes to inspire empathy and understanding among her followers, reminding them of the fragility of life and the importance of family connections. As she moves forward, her advocacy for child safety remains a pivotal part of her message, ensuring that her son’s tragic death serves a purpose beyond her personal grief.
As she reflects on her experience, Emilie’s commitment to raising awareness and preventing further tragedies shines through. It is a poignant reminder to families everywhere about the necessity of vigilance and care in protecting the ones they love.
