Tyler Mane, the actor renowned for his portrayal of Sabretooth in the film *X-Men*, has bravely announced that he has been diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer. The 59-year-old shared this personal struggle through a heartfelt post on Instagram, revealing that he is now undergoing chemotherapy as part of his treatment.

In an emotional video shared on 8 June, Mane stated, “Yep. I have breast cancer. And yep, it’s super rare.” He explained that approximately 1 in 755 men will develop breast cancer over their lifetime, marking him as one of the few to face this diagnosis. This statistic highlights the rarity of the condition in men, especially when compared to female patients, who have a much higher rate of diagnosis.

Mane candidly reflected on his initial reaction to the diagnosis, describing a desire to keep it private due to the stigma surrounding male breast cancer. “To be honest, my first reaction was to keep it a secret. I mean, it’s kind of embarrassing,” he admitted. However, he soon recognised that the lack of awareness and discussion surrounding the issue often results in many men being diagnosed at more advanced stages of the disease. “My doctors all dismissed it, and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early,” he emphasised.
