Reflecting on the moment, the 33-year-old artist described how difficult it was to articulate his feelings. “I was just bawling my eyes out, trying so hard to verbalise,” he recounted during the episode, which aired on June 10. “I really struggle to verbalise things, and this is obviously such an intense thing… it was really, really difficult to verbalise, and I didn’t verbalise it very well.”

Caleb shared that he had kept his sexuality hidden for a long time and faced a major internal struggle before finally addressing it with Fleur. He explained that he had to confront the feelings that he had been evading for years, saying, “The way that, like, I feel about girls, I feel about guys.” It was a pivotal moment for him, proving to be both liberating and tumultuous.
The musician acknowledged that his honesty had significant repercussions. “The f—ing hinges got ripped out,” he said, highlighting the sense of release he felt after opening up. Caleb suggested that acknowledging his sexuality was crucial for his mental well-being, enabling him to “stop hating myself so much.” The decision to embrace his identity also prompted him to seek therapy, which addressed not only his sexuality but also his struggles with severe ADHD.
In addition to therapeutic support, Caleb mentioned several lifestyle changes that have contributed positively to his mental health, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, exposure to sunlight, adequate sleep, and creative expression. He expressed a desire for self-love, although he admitted that the journey ahead remains challenging. “I have a long f—ing road ahead,” he said, acknowledging the importance of patience and gradual progress.
On May 23, Caleb took the significant step of coming out publicly through an extensive Instagram post, where he declared himself a “proudly gay man.” He reflected on his struggles with depression and self-loathing over the years, attributing his past reliance on alcohol to avoid confronting deeper issues. “Honestly, when I decided to put it down and focus on exploring why I felt this way for so long, it’s been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality,” he wrote.
Following his announcement, Fleur took to social media to share her perspective on this transitional period for both of them. She described the past months as “very disorienting and hurtful,” expressing her unwavering support for Caleb despite the circumstances. “I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb,” she stated on Instagram, underscoring the care she has for his well-being.
Fleur also touched on the complexities of their situation, acknowledging her own feelings of confusion and anger amidst the emotional upheaval. “You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be okay,” she noted, revealing the dual nature of her experience throughout their relationship’s evolution.
While Fleur reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Caleb, she also confirmed the conclusion of their marriage. “Our nearly 14 years of marriage was wonderful and full of so much fun, adventure & love,” she reflected. Despite the heartache of this decision, she emphasised that their shared history would always hold a special place in her heart.
Ending her message, Fleur poignantly stated, “Nobody will know anything about our marriage like we do… I already miss it & my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it is done.” This bittersweet acknowledgement encapsulates a transformative chapter for both Caleb and Fleur, marked by love, courage, and the complexities inherent in personal truth.
As Caleb continues to navigate his journey of self-discovery, his openness may resonate with many facing similar struggles, emphasising the importance of authenticity and self-acceptance in the pursuit of happiness.
