Major changes are on the horizon for Netflix’s popular reality series, *Selling Sunset*, as several prominent cast members have announced they will not be returning for the show’s upcoming tenth season. The series, which first aired in 2019, follows the often dramatic lives of luxury real estate agents working at The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles.

The departures come in the wake of the show’s renewal for another season, with at least five agents confirming their exits. Among those stepping away are fan-favourites Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Alanna Gold, Nicole Young, and Sandra Vergara. According to a report from TMZ in April, additional cast members Emma Hernan and Chelsea Lazkani are also set to leave, prompting speculation about the reasons behind this sudden shift in the line-up.
Mary Bonnet, who has been a mainstay since the show’s inception, shared her motivations for exiting in an exclusive interview with *PEOPLE*. Bonnet stated that her decision was driven by dissatisfaction with the direction of the series and the manner in which she was portrayed in season nine. “I signed up for the show thinking it would promote female empowerment and showcase a supportive environment for women in the real estate industry,” she explained. “Unfortunately, I feel it has strayed from that vision.”

One significant aspect that Bonnet highlighted was the editing choices made in the latest season. She expressed concern that the portrayal of her character was misrepresented, leading to what she described as “extremely unfair” editing. “It seemed like I was overreacting all the time,” she lamented. “The context of many situations was lost, and I don’t want to be part of something that could harm my reputation.”
Similarly, Sandra Vergara also reflected on her decision to leave, calling her experience on season nine “toxic and chaotic.” In a podcast interview, she indicated that upon learning of the commencement of filming for season 10, an appealing opportunity presented itself that clashed with the show’s schedule. “It just felt more aligned with where I am in my life right now,” she stated.
Alanna Gold, who joined the series in season eight, announced her departure via an Instagram video in late May. In her message, she described her time on the show as an “amazing journey,” but decided to prioritise her mental health along with pursuing new opportunities in real estate. “It’s time for me to focus on other things that are important to me,” she said, highlighting the switch in her priorities.
Chrishell Stause, another core member, disclosed her exit back in November 2025, citing reasons related to her mental well-being. Additionally, Nicole Young, who appeared on the show from seasons six through nine, has expressed similar sentiments through her representatives, stating that her portrayal over the seasons was “disheartening to observe.”
Although the departures signal a considerable shift, not all original cast members are leaving. Netflix confirmed that both Christine Quinn and Heather Rae El Moussa, who previously exited the series, will be rejoining the show for its tenth season. The addition of new dynamics with returning personalities suggests that the producers are aiming to refresh the show’s atmosphere amid the ongoing changes.
Other returning cast members include Bre Tiesi and Amanza Smith, whose return was reported by TMZ. As the series evolves, it remains to be seen how these shifts will impact the show’s appeal and narrative dynamics.
The departure of several popular faces raises questions about the future themes and direction of *Selling Sunset*. With potential new cast members yet to be announced, fans will be eager to see how the show adapts and what fresh stories will emerge in its tenth iteration, set against the lush backdrop of Los Angeles real estate.
