A mother from the UK has dedicated the last three years to transforming her backyard into an imaginative playhouse village for her children, a venture that has captured the attention of many online. Haley Orrock, 29, moved into her home three years ago and began to envision an elaborate space filled with whimsical structures that rival childhood fantasies.

Orrock’s backyard now boasts four distinctly themed playhouses, each contributing its own charm to the growing village. “There are currently four playhouses in the village,” she revealed. “I’ve been dreaming of this playhouse village ever since we moved into the house and always knew I wanted to make it over the top!”
The charming project has gained traction on social media, particularly on Instagram Reels, where Orrock shares the journey of constructing the village. Recently, she showcased one of her latest playhouses, which included a themed lower level designed as a post office complete with unique mailboxes for each playhouse.
Acquiring the playhouses has proven to be a challenging yet rewarding task. Orrock has sourced all four structures from Facebook Marketplace, often utilising her creativity and determination to successfully bring them home. Remarkably, she has managed to keep within a budget, spending no more than £60 for each playhouse.
However, the journey to obtaining these affordable treasures has not been without its complications. Orrock recounted the various challenges she faced during pickup, noting that every playhouse has its own story. “One we got into a car crash on the way home, another was so tall that we were worried it would hit the power lines, and then there was the one that was too big to fit in my car, which required me to break it apart for transport and fix it up later,” she shared.
The influence of her online following has also played a significant role in shaping the village. While Orrock starts with her own design ideas tailored for her children, many of the most memorable features have emerged from viewer suggestions and comments. “I hope people still comment their amazing ideas,” she said, indicating that the audience engagement has been a vital part of the project’s evolution.
Despite having completed four playhouses, Orrock’s work is far from over. She has ambitious plans to expand the village further, declaring, “The village has a long way to go. I plan to add several more houses.” Her vision implies that the playhouse village may never reach a definitive completion, as she expressed with a smile, “Hopefully never.”
