In a move aimed at inspiring individuals to improve their well-being, Karamo Brown, a well-known figure from the hit Netflix series *Queer Eye*, has unveiled a new wellness app called Kē Wellness. This innovative platform is designed to guide users in breaking unhealthy habits while motivating them to embrace a holistic approach to their health.

The announcement was made on 27 April, with Brown stating that the app encapsulates the uplifting messages he has been sharing during his time on *Queer Eye*. “I’m here to teach you so that you can go out and live your best life,” Brown expressed in an interview with PEOPLE. The emphasis of the app is on addressing various aspects of wellness, including physical fitness, nutrition, meditation, sobriety, relationships, and personal growth.
Brown’s personal experiences played a significant role in shaping the concept behind Kē Wellness. Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “About a year and a half ago, I went on this journey and wanted to be the best version of myself.” As he approached his 45th birthday, he realised the importance of maintaining balance across different facets of life. He recognised his struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle while juggling stress and commitments, leading him to seek a more comprehensive strategy for wellness.
At one point, Brown faced a setback in his sobriety while filming *Queer Eye*. Acknowledging the shame he felt, he was determined to overcome his challenges by re-establishing his commitment to sobriety. “It felt shameful because I was teaching people that they could be better, but in my own life I was trapped,” he admitted. Embracing a more disciplined lifestyle, he made strides in various areas, which significantly improved his mental and physical health.
The idea for the app crystallised when Brown found inspiration in a song lyric, which prompted him to consider how he could help others who may feel similarly trapped in their circumstances. The lyric, “You have the key to break out of this prison,” resonated with him, leading to the creation of Kē, a tool intended to help individuals unlock their potential.
Kē Wellness features a blend of video sessions led by Brown himself, complemented by an artificial intelligence component known as the Digital Mind. This AI, powered by Delphi technology, provides real-time guidance and personalised advice tailored to each user’s unique journey, all conveyed in Brown’s distinct voice and style.
Despite initial reservations about AI, Brown was reassured by Delphi’s promise to create a thoughtful tool that genuinely assists users without encouraging excessive reliance. “I used to be one of those people afraid of AI,” he remarked. “But I want users to engage with the world around them and use this app as a stepping stone for greater connections.”
Moreover, the app has built-in safeguards designed to ensure a safe and supportive user experience. Brown emphasised the importance of human interaction, stating, “I cannot keep people in a space where they’re not talking to other humans.” The Kē design aims to strike a balance, providing initial guidance while encouraging users to connect with their communities.
In its framework, Kē Wellness is designed not only to assist users in achieving their goals but also to promote self-sufficiency. Brown hopes that over time, users will develop the necessary skills and understanding to thrive independently. “I don’t want anybody on this app for two or three years,” he asserted. “I want users to have me in their pocket as a supportive presence while they unlock their best life.”
The app operates on a subscription basis, priced at £14.99 per month, and offers a three-day free trial. It is currently available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, providing immediate access to Brown’s motivating content and advice.
For those grappling with substance abuse issues, additional support resources are available through the SAMHSA helpline at 1-800-662-HELP. Brown’s commitment to guiding individuals towards healthier and more fulfilling lives is clear through the launch of Kē Wellness, which aims to empower users to break free from their own metaphorical prisons.
