In a delightful twist to their burgeoning romance, Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun recently enjoyed an impromptu late-night jaunt to Times Square, New York City. The outing, captured in a lively Instagram Reel by Braun, showcased the couple on rented Citi Bikes, traversing the streets of the iconic city at the stroke of midnight.

The director and the actress were in the Big Apple partly to celebrate Sweeney’s latest campaign for American Eagle, showcased on a billboard in the densely packed tourist area. Reflecting on the spontaneous nature of their adventure, Braun posted, “When you’re in bed at 11 pm and your girl says ‘I’ve never been to Times Square…’,” elegantly summarising the charming tone of their evening.
In the footage shared online, Sweeney exuded joy as she giggled and pulled her feet off the pedals while Braun, clad in a grey hoodie and a black cap, rode beside her. The couple attempted to maintain a low profile, with Sweeney hiding her face behind oversized sunglasses and a navy hoodie. Their efforts at being incognito were short-lived, as they paused for cheeseburgers before arriving in the heart of Times Square.
As Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ anthem “Empire State of Mind” filled the air, Sweeney, visibly excited, joined in the chorus. The couple marveled at the bustling surroundings, finally reaching Sweeney’s interactive American Eagle billboard, her face prominently featured in the campaign titled “Syd for Short.” The actress later commented on Braun’s post with a heartfelt, “🤷🏼♀️🥰🥰❤️,” showcasing her enthusiasm for the occasion.
Sweeney, who typically goes by the nickname “Syd” among friends and family, expressed her deep appreciation for the opportunity to connect personal aspects of her personality with a major brand like American Eagle. She mentioned in an interview, “Everyone back home and my friends and my family, they know me as Syd, and so getting to show that side of my personality with American Eagle is really special for me.”
Their Times Square escapade came shortly after Braun appeared as a guest on Suzy Weiss’ podcast, where he spoke highly of Sweeney. “I’ve met an extraordinary woman—kind, generous, smart, real, and down to earth,” he gushed, emphasising that their relationship had become one of the biggest surprises of his life. He also shared his enjoyment of Sweeney’s performance in her breakout show, Euphoria, acknowledging her talent amidst the series’ success.
As the third season of Euphoria wrapped up, creator Sam Levinson confirmed its conclusion in an announcement that shocked many fans. Nevertheless, Sweeney’s burgeoning relationship with Braun has captivated the tabloids. The two were introduced at the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in Venice, Italy in June 2025, and sightings of the pair began to emerge soon after.
By September 2025, their relationship had been described as “casual,” but reports by December indicated that they had grown committed. Sources revealed, “Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great. They’re in a committed relationship and things are serious.”
Their romance has seen its fair share of public adventures, with Braun recently accompanying Sweeney to Australia, where she is involved in filming the live-action adaptation of Gundam alongside Noah Centineo. Filming for the project began in Queensland earlier this year, and Sweeney has been actively sharing glimpses of their time together on social media.
With this late-night excursion to Times Square, Sweeney and Braun not only revelled in the vibrancy of New York City but also offered a candid look into their young romance, balancing career ambitions with heartfelt moments. As they continue to navigate their personal and professional lives in the public eye, it will be intriguing to see where their journey takes them next.
