He scratches my name off of t-shirts and stuff and puts his name on there. Can you imagine having a partner like that?”

As for whether the pair still enjoy the products of their collaboration, Hagar confirmed that they do share a taste for the rum, especially during studio sessions. “Sometimes I go to bed at 8 p.m., and sometimes I stay up late when I’m working in the studio. I mean, that’s what I love to do and alcohol comes into play,” he explained, while emphasizing a more cautious approach to drinking as he grows older. “But I don’t get drunk anymore. No hangovers. I’m smarter than that now. I learned that in my 50s!”
