In a confirmation to Politico, Platner’s campaign acknowledged that the politician had sent these messages. The 41-year-old has been married to Gertner since 2023, and it appears that the couple had addressed the issue through counselling. Following the revelation, Gertner defended their marriage, stating that they have emerged stronger from the challenges they faced.
Gertner, who serves as a paid volunteer coordinator for Platner’s campaign, revealed the existence of the texts to a campaign aide in a bid to pre-empt potential fallout as the campaign approached.
