Chance the Rapper has opened up about how his daughters are some of his biggest fans during a recent conversation at the Gordon Parks Foundation’s Annual Gala in New York City. The 33-year-old musician shares two daughters, Kensli, age ten, and Marli, age six, with his ex-wife Kirsten Corley.

During his chat with PEOPLE, Chance revealed that his children enjoy listening to his music, particularly songs from his celebrated 2016 album, *Coloring Book*. He mentioned that while Kensli has a fondness for the track ‘Blessings’, Marli is particularly taken with ‘Star Line’. His insight into their music preferences showcases a familial bond rooted in creativity and his career.
Looking forward, Chance has announced plans for a *Coloring Book* Ten Year Anniversary Tour, set to kick off in August. He expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of having his daughters accompany him to some of the concert dates, which will see him performing in cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco. “My kids love concerts,” he shared, hinting that even though they will likely be back in school by then, he remains hopeful they might join him.
In addition to his musical endeavours, Chance is excited about summer travel plans with his family. The featured destination is Kenya, marking their first visit to the East African country. “I think we’re going to go to Kenya for the first time, so I’m excited for that,” he noted, illustrating his eagerness to expose his children to new experiences.
Chance and Kirsten tied the knot in March 2019 in Newport Beach, California, but their journey as a couple faced challenges. In April 2024, the couple announced their decision to part ways after a period of separation. They conveyed their sentiments in a joint statement shared on social media, expressing gratitude for their time together and emphasising the importance of their daughters, whom they remain committed to raising collaboratively. Kirsten filed for divorce officially in December 2024.
The rapper, who has previous spoken on *The Jennifer Hudson Show*, remarked that his daughters share his passion for music. “They love singing and they love to dance,” he explained, noting that Kensli exhibits perfect pitch and goes “crazy” whenever she sings.
Interestingly, Chance reflected on his daughters’ understanding of fame, indicating that their perception is refreshingly straightforward. “They know I’m famous, but I don’t think they know anybody else is famous, which is awesome,” he commented. He appreciates that their admiration stems from his music rather than celebrity status, stating, “They like my songs, so I’m going to hold on to that while I can.”
The musician frequently shares moments from his life as a father on social media. Recently, he offered a glimpse into family life through a post showing himself enjoying time with Kensli and Marli while they played in a pool in Miami, captioning it, “We in Miami turning up another notch.” Another post from Easter featured a simple yet heartwarming message, “LOVE!” alongside a photo of him with his daughters.
In sharing these glimpses, Chance not only highlights the joys of fatherhood but also the close-knit relationship he maintains with his children, which remains a central theme in his life amid the demands of a successful music career. As he prepares for his tour and a summer vacation in Kenya, Chance appears keen to balance his professional pursuits with family time, ready to embrace whatever the future holds for him and his daughters.
