Actress Shay Mitchell, known for her role in the hit series ‘Pretty Little Liars’, has outlined her summer plans in a recent interview with PEOPLE. While the 39-year-old star has been engaged in filming the much-anticipated ‘Baywatch’ reboot, she has decided to steer clear of the beach for her upcoming holiday.
In a conversation at the Fox Upfront in New York City, held on May 11, Mitchell expressed her excitement for the summer, revealing, “My summer plans are honestly probably going to just be travelling with my family.” The Canadian-American actress shares two daughters—Atlas, aged six, and Rome, aged four—with her partner, Matte Babel. Despite her busy filming schedule in Los Angeles, she cherishes the ability to return home to tuck her children into bed most nights.
Elaborating on her family travel intentions, Mitchell stated that she might choose a destination that does not involve sun-soaked shores. “But my summer plans are probably just getting on a plane and travelling, probably somewhere where there isn’t a beach,” she remarked, alluding to her recent experience filming Baywatch. She humorously added, “I’ll still have the wrinkles from the water,” referencing the film’s aquatic themes.
Mitchell has previously shared her enthusiasm for travel as a mother. Back in February 2020, she recounted how her eldest daughter, Atlas, reveled in their globetrotting adventures even as a baby. “She’s been to Vancouver, we’ve been to Paris, Vegas… and I’m from Toronto, so we’ll be going there soon,” she stated. She cheekily added, “In the future, when they ask me what I’m taking from set, it’s the bathing suits.”
