In the latest episode, which aired on 20 May, Robertson Huff recounted her first visit to the paediatrician following these troubling events. It was during this appointment that she received a diagnosis that shed light on Kit’s condition. “I told him [the doctor] that Kit breathes really loud,” she explained. The doctor acknowledged this observation and suspected that Kit might be dealing with laryngomalacia, a common condition among infants.
She elaborated on the diagnosis, explaining that laryngomalacia is characterised by a “floppy throat” and “turbulent breathing,” which can cause a distinct breathing sound in babies. “He said it’s usually nothing to worry about, as long as she is eating well and her oxygen levels are stable,” Sadie affirmed. She noted that Kit had no issues with her oxygen levels and was thriving during feeding, leading her to feel reassured despite the extraordinary circumstances.

Earlier in April, Robertson Huff described experiencing significant anxiety stemming from a particularly distressing incident involving Kit. While in her high chair snacking, Kit began to choke, prompting a frantic response from Sadie and her family. “Within seconds, you could tell the severity of the situation,” she recalled, revealing that her mother swiftly intervened as Sadie instinctively initiated CPR after calling 999.
In her emotional recounting, Robertson Huff shared that she had previously trained in CPR through various online videos. “I felt God’s Spirit guiding me as I put everything into practice,” she stated, expressing gratitude for the outcome. Miraculously, Kit managed to cough and resume breathing just as emergency services arrived, though the experience left the family shaken.
She further recounted the tense ride in the ambulance, noting her mixture of fear and relief as she comforted her daughter. Sadie reflected on the moment, saying, “Christian drove behind, following us, and told me there was a rainbow over the ambulance the whole way there”. This provided a comforting visual in a time of distress, reinforcing her belief in divine support through their ordeal.
After a night of observation in hospital, Kit charmed the medical staff and was declared healthy and happy, which brought immense relief to the family. “She is now perfectly healthy, happy, and brightening everyone’s day,” Sadie remarked, sharing a sense of gratitude for both her daughter’s resilience and the healthcare professionals involved.
In light of this experience, Robertson Huff expressed her intention to use her platform to raise awareness about the importance of being prepared for emergencies. “I wanted to share our experience to encourage others,” she mentioned, emphasising the need for vigilance and readiness when it comes to the wellbeing of young children.
As she continues to navigate motherhood and the challenges it occasionally presents, Sadie Robertson Huff remains an advocate for sharing experiences that can help and inform others, highlighting the significance of community support through difficult times.
