Annie Agar, a popular social media influencer recognised for her engaging NFL content, has recently found herself in the midst of online criticism regarding her weight. Following the circulation of photographs depicting her looking slimmer than usual, speculation arose among her followers, many suggesting that she may be using the diabetes medication Ozempic to aid in weight loss.

In a video shared on May 19, Agar, who has amassed nearly two million followers across TikTok and Instagram, decided to address the situation directly. “I wasn’t even going to address this because I don’t know if it’s worth the time,” she stated at the beginning of the clip. “But the comments have gotten a little out of control.”

As the comments grew more persistent, Agar took the time to refute claims regarding Ozempic. “There’s been a lot of comments about Ozempic,” she elaborated. “First of all, I am not on Ozempic. What the funny thing is, I am the biggest hypochondriac. I don’t even take Tylenol, guys, because the side effects freak me out. So the side effects of Ozempic would put me in therapy, okay?”
Agar attributed her recent weight loss to lifestyle changes she had made, specifically mentioning her improved understanding of nutrition. She explained that she had eliminated refined sugar and most alcohol from her diet. “I appreciate the comments if it comes from a good place, if it’s a place of concern,” she continued, noting that while some observations might stem from genuine concern, others could be driven by negativity.
“Sometimes I feel like it might just be rage bait,” she added, emphasising the emotional impact of such comments. Agar admitted to experiencing tough days in coping with online criticism, saying, “I’ve been known to have a bad day or two with comments. So just know that I see them.”
Despite the unwarranted scrutiny, Agar expressed a desire to keep the focus of her platform on her content rather than her appearance. “I love letting you into this side of my life where you see different things that I do,” she explained, mentioning her family and off-season activities apart from football. She conveyed that if her weight became a diversion from the content her audience desires, she would be open to adjustments.
Annie Agar previously worked as a reporter for FanDuel Sports Network, formerly known as Bally Sports, where she honed her skills in sports reporting. Her unique style has earned her significant popularity on social media, particularly for her weekly “NFL Meetings” videos, which feature her portraying multiple characters while discussing current news and events in the NFL.
As a figure in the public eye, Agar’s experiences highlight the intense scrutiny individuals face regarding their physical appearance. It also underscores the importance of mental health and support amidst the often harsh realities of social media criticism.
With a dedication to sharing her perspective on American football and everyday life, Annie Agar continues to engage her audience, while openly navigating the challenges that come with online visibility.
