Schott, who has enjoyed a remarkable 40-year career at Disney, notably began his journey as a front-line cast member serving as a skipper on the iconic Jungle Cruise attraction at the Magic Kingdom. This classic ride allows guests to navigate through treacherous waters while encountering various animatronic wildlife, with skippers providing a dose of humour throughout the journey.
Prior to this appointment, Schott held the position of president of Disney Signature Experiences. In that capacity, he was instrumental in launching two new cruise ships—Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure. He also oversaw operations for the Disney Vacation Club, as well as Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa located in Hawaii, and Storyliving by Disney and Golden Oak, which is a luxury residential community situated within Walt Disney World.
Schott’s extensive experience further encompasses a stint as president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. During his tenure, the resort saw significant developments, notably the introduction of a Zootopia-themed land, and it surpassed 100 million visitors within its first decade of operation. His earlier roles include serving as the chief operating officer at Disneyland Paris and the executive managing director of Walt Disney Attractions Japan.
In the recent announcement regarding leadership changes, Natacha Rafalski, the past president of Disneyland Paris, has been designated to take over Schott’s previous position at Disney Signature Experiences, while Christophe Murphy will succeed her role.
