3 People Wanted in Kentucky After Man Was Gunned Down and ‘Shot 15 Times’

Authorities in Newport, Kentucky, have released details regarding three suspects wanted in connection with a shocking shooting that occurred earlier this month. The Newport Police Department (NPD) has named Tiance Combs, Terry Moses, and Kortney Alford as individuals connected to the May 9 incident, which left a man severely injured.

In a press release dated May 14, police stated that all three suspects should be regarded as “armed and dangerous.” Combs, 30, Moses, 26, and Alford, 30, are currently facing charges that include attempted murder, complicity to attempted murder, and facilitation of attempted murder. They are all residents of Newport.

Alongside identifying the suspects, authorities shared photographs of each individual in hopes of gathering information from the public. The victim, identified as Trey Iles via social media, expressed gratitude for the support he has received while recovering. “I was shot 15 times but I’m actually doing amazingly good and just on a long road of recovery,” he shared on Facebook, acknowledging the many prayers and messages of concern from friends and family.

Family members of Iles have recounted the harrowing details surrounding the incident. According to his aunt and uncle, Heidi and Harley Iles, Trey had been out with his girlfriend and stopped at a local Circle K convenience store to allow her to purchase snacks. Following this, he was approached by a girl he recognised from previous encounters, which led to an unforeseen confrontation.

Heidi Iles described hearing the gunfire and expressed her disbelief that her nephew survived such an ordeal. “When I heard 15 shots, I thought — ‘Oh my God, my baby nephew is not going to make it,'” she recounted. She went on to detail the extent of his injuries, stating that he sustained multiple gunshot wounds in both ankles and his arm, as well as a serious injury to his neck.

Harley Iles expressed similar sentiments, highlighting the shock and despair that accompanied the initial news of Trey’s injuries. “I thought we were going to be planning a funeral — because who survives that?” he remarked, reflecting the gravity of the situation.

The Newport Police’s initial investigation indicated that the shooting might have been an “isolated incident,” with no immediate threat to the broader community. Officers are actively hunting for the suspects but have yet to provide updates on their whereabouts.
