It was in Florence, however, that she crossed paths with Dario, her now fiancé. “On my first day in Florence, I met Dario,” she recounted fondly. Their brief encounter blossomed into a long-distance romance filled with heartfelt reunions and hopes for the future.
After spending a year navigating the challenges of their transatlantic relationship, Dario relocated to New York in December 2019, only for the couple to quickly reassess their situation as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded in March 2020. Feeling increasingly dissatisfied with life in the United States, Rose experienced a pivotal moment of realisation about her own happiness. Subsequently, the couple made the bold decision to move to Italy in January 2021, initially on a six-month trial basis—a decision that ultimately turned into a fulfilling five-year journey.
Settling in Dario’s hometown of Florence allowed Rose to immerse herself in Italian culture and lifestyle. Embracing this new chapter, she began to share her experiences on social media, amassing a significant following of over 2 million. As she fluctuates between content creation and tour planning, she prioritises embodying the principles of “la dolce vita,” the Italian ethos of enjoying the sweetness of life. “I don’t need to create content on everything,” she stated, expressing her commitment to living in the present moment. Her fiancé Dario plays a crucial role in helping her maintain this balance, often suggesting tech-free weekends to enjoy their surroundings without distraction.
Rose’s initiative extends beyond merely introducing travellers to the wonders of Italy; she aspires to instil a sense of confidence in those who participate in her tours. For her, the most rewarding aspect is seeing someone embark on their first solo trip and subsequently gaining the assurance to explore on their own in the future. “If I can instill the confidence in somebody who has never had a stamp in their passport before, then I’ve accomplished what I want to accomplish,” she expressed.
