Mom Searches Apartment for Missing 6-Year-Old Son, Then Looks Over Balcony and Finds His Body on the Concrete Below

In a tragic incident in Nashville, a six-year-old boy has lost his life after falling from the balcony of his apartment. The child, identified as Kingston McWilliams, fell from a height of more than 80 feet on the night of Tuesday, May 12th, at an apartment complex located on Webster Street in the Madison neighbourhood of the city.

Authorities reported that the boy’s mother had stepped out of the living room for a brief moment, leaving Kingston alone. When she returned and found him missing, she began to search the apartment and the eighth-floor hallway. It was only when she looked over the balcony railing that she discovered her son lying on the concrete below.

The Nashville Metropolitan Police stated that the heartbreaking fall was determined to be from a height of 81 feet. Kingston was quickly transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Police spokesperson, Don Aaron, has confirmed that there are no indications of foul play involved in the incident. “From everything we know, it appears to be a tragic accident,” he expressed, adding, “It just feels horrible.” An autopsy has been scheduled to investigate the cause and manner of Kingston’s death.

The mother had previously warned her son about the dangers of leaning over the balcony, noting that Kingston often attempted to climb or lean over the railing. This tragic event has left a deep impact on residents of the apartment complex, many of whom expressed their shock and sadness in the wake of the incident.

Shaquan Mays, a resident of the building, voiced concerns about the necessity of vigilance when looking after children. “It only takes a split second,” he remarked. “You have to watch your kids. You have to be aware of what’s going on.” He added that while he typically keeps a close eye on his own children, this incident will make him even more cautious about allowing them outside.
