Authorities have announced the arrest of a second suspect in relation to the long-unsolved murder of Frank Weiss, whose body was discovered in 2002. The Frisco Police Department confirmed the apprehension of Keith Hart, a 57-year-old resident of Waxahachie, on 8 May 2026. This follows the earlier arrest of Lisa Honrud, 55, on 20 April 2026, who was married to Weiss at the time of his death.

Frank Weiss, a veteran and businessman from Plano, Texas, was found dead by a passer-by while fishing near Lake Lewisville. His body was discovered wrapped in black plastic bags and weighed down with 50-pound sandbags. An autopsy revealed that he had suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest, inflicted by a .38 calibre weapon.

For many years, the case remained stagnant, failing to yield any substantial leads. However, significant advancements in investigative methods, alongside new information from a key witness, have revitalised interest in the case. These developments have led to the issuance of murder warrants for both Honrud and Hart.
On the announcement of Hart’s arrest, a statement from the Frisco Police Department highlighted the diligent work carried out by investigators and the importance of community cooperation in reaching this stage. “Investigators with the Frisco Police Department have continued to make significant progress in a 24-year-old cold case homicide,” the officials stated.
While the precise relationship between Honrud and Hart remains unclear, both are now facing charges that could lead to lengthy legal proceedings. As they await their court appearances, Police Chief David Shilson expressed hope that these arrests would bring some measure of closure to Weiss’s family and the surrounding community.
The renewed attention to the case underscores the impact of modern technology and collaboration with witnesses in allowing cold cases to be reopened. The Frisco Police Department’s commitment to solving this homicide has reportedly drawn on significant time and effort, which has now begun to pay off.
