LaMelo Ball, the 24-year-old NBA star, and his partner Ana Montana, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, have become parents for the first time. In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, the couple expressed their overwhelming love and gratitude for their new family member. “Welcoming LaOne into the world has changed our hearts in the best way,” they shared. The young parents emphasised the invaluable lessons and perspectives that parenthood has introduced to their lives, especially regarding love, purpose, and family legacy.
Alongside the joy of parenthood, Montana has founded a nonprofit initiative named I Am Fertility. The organisation is designed to assist women as they navigate the often challenging paths of IVF treatments and fertility issues. Drawing from her own experiences, Montana hopes to provide the necessary support and resources for those who feel isolated during such emotional journeys.

Reflecting on her personal struggle with IVF, Montana stated, “At one point during my IVF journey, I felt overwhelmed, emotional, isolated and unsure where to turn.” This challenging experience led her to create I Am Fertility as a sanctuary where women don’t have to endure their battles alone. She aims to foster a community that offers understanding, education, and hope for those facing similar challenges.
In addition to fostering community, I Am Fertility will include the establishment of The HOPE Grant. This initiative intends to provide direct financial support to women in need of assistance while navigating IVF and fertility treatments. This year, the grant will award two women with $5,000 each, enabling them to better manage the financial burdens that often accompany fertility services.
The launch of The HOPE Grant is set for Mother’s Day, with applications opening the same day and closing on June 1. Montana hopes that this initiative will not only alleviate financial pressure but also empower women to pursue their dreams of motherhood.
Montana highlighted the importance of building a supportive network, stating, “This is more than awareness; it’s about creating real support, real access, and a community where women feel seen, understood, and hopeful.” Such sentiments underline I Am Fertility’s mission as a vital resource for women facing similar obstacles in their pursuits of family.
As LaMelo Ball and Ana Montana navigate their new role as parents, they are also committed to making a positive impact on the lives of other women struggling with fertility issues. Their shared journey and Montana’s new initiative stand to offer comfort, guidance, and a sense of solidarity to those in need.
The couple’s heartfelt approach highlights the critical need for accessible resources in the realm of fertility, coupled with their own personal insights from parenthood, which shapes their vision for supporting others. Through I Am Fertility, they aim to not only share their story but also listen to and uplift the voices of women everywhere who face similar challenges.
