A mother along with her two teenage children has been missing for several weeks after embarking on a camping trip in Italy. Sonia Bottacchiari, aged 49, and her children, aged 14 and 16, disappeared on April 20 while travelling from the Piacenza area to Friuli Venezia Giulia for a short holiday.

Bottacchiari, reportedly bringing their four dogs along, had been due to return home by April 24. Bottacchiari’s ex-husband, Yuri Groppi, revealed that he had received a text from her on the day they went missing, informing him of their journey. He also received a message from his son, stating, “Twenty minutes and we’re here. Bye, Dad,” alongside another communication from his daughter regarding school.
Yuri, who has been separated from Bottacchiari for over a decade, took steps to report their absence when they did not arrive at the campsite as planned. Upon contacting the campsite directly, Yuri discovered they had no record of reservations for his ex-wife and the children. This prompted him to file a missing persons report with local authorities.
