In a recent episode of his podcast, “Good Guys,” actor Josh Peck shared insights into his wedding held in June 2017. The ceremony took place in the picturesque Malibu, California, and was a highly personal event for Peck and his wife, Paige O’Brien. However, looking back on that significant day, the 39-year-old star expressed some notable regrets regarding his guest list decisions.

During a discussion about celebrity weddings, particularly the anticipated union of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, Peck reminisced about his own experience and highlighted a key misstep. He reflected on the importance of prioritising family members over acquaintances when deciding who to invite.

“I made this mistake,” Peck admitted during the podcast. He revealed that he had, unfortunately, invited some “random friends” instead of family members, a decision he now questions. Peck confessed that he would have chosen differently if he were to create his guest list again, explaining that certain individuals who attended his wedding would not make the cut today.

Peck elaborated on his feelings, stating that he wishes he had included cousins and relatives who, at the time, were not as close to him due to various family dynamics. “It’s a shame they weren’t there,” he told co-host Ben Soffer. His sentiment echoes a common theme among those planning weddings—that family connections should take precedence, even if they seem distant at the moment.

He went on to reflect more broadly on relationships, stating that, as people grow older, their circles often change. “People have big families; you have 20 or 30 cousins,” he noted. “You think, ‘Ah, we barely talk,’ but it’s better to lean on those connections than to focus on whatever the flavour of the year is in your friend group.” He further remarked, “I have groomsmen I wouldn’t invite now. It’s crazy.”

Peck’s wife, Paige O’Brien, also weighed in on the topic. He described her as “much more emotionally normal” than himself, suggesting that she, too, recognised there were friends at their wedding who would not be included in their current circle. “Yeah, there’s like a handful of people that would make no sense to be at our wedding today that were there seven years ago,” he quoted her as saying.

The discussion about his guest list choices was not the first time Peck has delved into this subject. Last year, he spoke candidly about why he did not invite fellow cast members from his Nickelodeon show, “Drake & Josh.” The only cast-associated person at his wedding was the show’s creator, Dan Schneider, who was connected to Peck through his mother’s friendship with Schneider’s wife.

“It’s not an indictment of one particular person,” Peck clarified regarding his decision to exclude his former co-stars. He revealed that when he was 30, he felt the need to move on from that chapter of his life. Reflecting on his was state of mind, he suggested that he sought a fresh start, stating, “It felt like it didn’t serve me anymore.”

Schneider has faced criticism and controversy in the years since the show ended, having been expelled from Nickelodeon in March 2018 following allegations of abusive conduct on set. Schneider has denied any wrongdoing in response to the claims.

While it’s clear that Peck now realises the significance of maintaining family ties, his candid reflections on his wedding day serve as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of relationships and the evolving roles of friends and family in one’s life.
