Jake Reiner has made a heartfelt return to his podcast, *The Incline: Dodgers Podcast*, following the devastating death of his parents, Rob and Michele Singer Reiner, in December 2025. The 35-year-old podcaster had taken a hiatus from the show, which he co-hosts with Kevin Klein, after the tragedy that shocked his family and friends.

In a recent episode, Jake reflected on the profound connection he shared with his late father through their mutual love for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The cherished moments spent discussing the team formed a vital part of their relationship. “When it comes to the Dodgers, you know, my first love, is something that I’ve always connected with my dad first and foremost,” Jake expressed. He added that their conversations about the team occurred almost daily, and they regularly attended numerous games together each season.
Jake decided to take a step back from his podcasting duties after the tragic event, which also involved the arrest of his brother, Nick Reiner. Nick has since faced charges of first-degree murder in connection with their parents’ deaths but has pleaded not guilty. Given the sensitive nature of the circumstances, Jake found it necessary to pause his on-air activities as he navigated his grief.
Before rejoining the podcasting world, Jake penned a personal essay that he published on Substack in April. The essay served as a tribute to his parents and offered insights into their personalities and contributions to his life. He expressed a desire to share their story with the world, stating, “I felt like I wanted to put my words out there and let people in as to the kind of people that they were at home.”
Reiner explained that connecting with others about grief was essential for him, noting the unique ways in which people process their losses. He welcomed his podcast listeners to check out his essay for an in-depth look at his reflections and memories of his parents. “Even though everyone’s grief is unique to them, I wanted to share my experience,” he shared.
His return to the podcast was carefully timed; Jake wanted to acknowledge the weight of recent events before diving back into discussions about the Dodgers’ performance. He took a moment during the episode to express gratitude to friends, fans, and supporters who had reached out during this challenging time. “I couldn’t appreciate that more,” he said, emphasising the importance of the support he had received from those “near and far.”
Reiner also conveyed his eagerness to resume discussing baseball, noting how integral the Dodgers are not only to him personally but also in keeping the memory of his father alive. “It felt like a good time to come back,” he said, recognising the dual need to pay homage to his parents while simultaneously reigniting his passion for the Dodgers.
As he embarks on this new chapter, Jake Reiner remains committed to honouring his family while continuing to share the joy of baseball with his listeners. He expressed excitement at being back on the show again, stating, “I’m really honoured to be back. It’s been a long time coming.” With his return, Reiner hopes to seamlessly blend his passion for baseball with the memories of his family, preserving their legacy as he moves forward in a difficult time.
