Emergency services were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m., but despite their efforts, Brodan was pronounced dead shortly after 7:30 p.m. The incident has left the local community in shock and mourning, as they come to terms with the loss of the young teenager.
In a heartfelt message on social media, Sir Graham Balfour School’s headteacher, Mr. M. Mason, reached out to Brodan’s family, friends, and the wider school community. He acknowledged the significant impact the student had on those around him, describing him as polite, respectful, and an “amazing young man” who embodied the highest values of the school.

Mr. Mason elaborated on Brodan’s character, noting that he was “intelligent, thoughtful and inquisitive.” He remarked on the bright future that lay ahead of Brodan, stating, “It is heartbreaking that it has been taken from him in such a tragic manner.” The headteacher expressed how deeply Brodan enriched the lives of many during his time at school, stating, “We will miss him dearly and we will treasure the legacy he left on all who knew him.”
The school has promised to honour Brodan’s memory appropriately in due course. As the community grapples with grief, Mr. Mason has made arrangements for support services to be available for students who may be affected by the tragedy. “School will be open as normal for all students on Tuesday morning, and there will be comprehensive help, support and advice in place for those who need it,” he added.

Tributes have also poured in from Brodan’s former primary school, Tillington Manor Primary School. Mrs. Brockhurst, the headteacher, shared her condolences on social media, highlighting that while Brodan had moved on from Tillington Manor, he would always be cherished as part of their school family. “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing to share the devastating news that Brodan Dubickas… tragically lost his life,” she wrote.
The impact of Brodan’s passing has been felt across the community, including by Stafford Rangers Football Club, which offered their condolences online. They stated, “Everyone at the club sends their thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, and all those affected at this incredibly difficult time.”
In a show of solidarity and support, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist Brodan’s family during this difficult period. The page aims to raise funds for funeral costs and to provide support as they navigate this unforeseen tragedy. As of Thursday, 7th May, the campaign has successfully garnered over $39,000 in contributions.
As the community mourns the loss of Brodan, plans are being made for remembrance initiatives that honour his young life and the joy he brought to those around him. Brodan’s legacy will undoubtedly be remembered by friends, family, and the wider community, uniting them in shared memories and stories of a life cut tragically short.
The outpouring of grief following this accident highlights the importance of support and connection during times of loss. Local leaders and members of the community are mobilising to ensure that everyone affected by this tragedy has access to the necessary resources to cope with their grief and to remember Brodan Dubickas in a way that reflects the positive impact he had on their lives.
