In an exciting development for visitors to Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Valencia, California amusement park has officially shuttered the beloved Bugs Bunny World to pave the way for the upcoming Looney Tunes Land. The new attraction is scheduled to open this summer and promises a fresh experience for fans of the iconic Looney Tunes characters.

The transition is part of a larger transformation effort aimed at creating an entirely new and immersive area within the park. Bugs Bunny World was a dedicated space featuring various rides and attractions based on the classic animated series. However, with the closure of this area, the park will see the removal of ten different attractions, including the Merrie Melodies Carousel, Whistlestop Train, and Taz’s Trucking Company. The only ride remaining operational in the area is the Road Runner Express kids’ coaster.

Originally, the park intended to implement the transformation in phases, but park officials have chosen a more expedited approach to prepare for the busy summer season. By closing the entire area at once, construction crews can move forward faster, ensuring that the new attractions are ready to welcome guests as soon as possible. To keep visitors informed, Six Flags has set up a dedicated webpage that includes details on ride closures and expected reopening dates.
At the core of the redesigned area will be the Bugs Bunny Play Park, a charming central space where children can engage in thematic play and exploration. This area will replace the previous Speedy Gonzalez Hot Rods and Pepe Le Pew’s Tea Party rides, and it will feature a whimsical environment designed to reflect the character’s home.
The much-loved Merrie Melodies Merrie-Go-Round will also receive a stylish makeover, with a new colour scheme and a revamped marquee sign. Additionally, the dining option in the area, Wascal’s, will undergo renovations to present a fresh look, including a new façade themed around Granny’s House, promising a delightful culinary experience for park visitors.
Another exciting aspect of the redevelopment is TAZ-mania, a tropical landscape that will be home to the famed Tasmanian Devil. The Whistlestop Train will be rebranded as Taz’s Tasmanian Train Tours, offering an engaging exploration of the island’s wild terrain. Furthermore, guests can look forward to an all-new Taz’s Exploration Trail, which will replace the existing Magic Flyer and Tweety’s Escape attractions.
For those eager to witness Wile E. Coyote’s relentless pursuit of the Road Runner, the newly designed Road Runner Ridge will feature rocky formations and desert landscapes, with the Road Runner Express continuing to serve as the focal point of this section.
Daffy Duck will also take centre stage at Camp Duck Amuck, where the area will be reimagined in a High Sierra theme. The currently existing Taz’s Trucking Company will be rethemed as Daffy’s Forest Four-Wheelers, ensuring that visitors encounter the charm of the Looney Tunes in imaginative settings. Notably, the Looney Tunes Lodge will be refreshed to resemble a rustic mountain cabin, adding to the overall themed experience.
While an official opening date for Looney Tunes Land has yet to be announced, Six Flags Magic Mountain has mentioned that the new attraction is anticipated to launch sometime in summer 2026. This development is sure to generate excitement among park goers and Looney Tunes enthusiasts alike.
In addition to the Looney Tunes revamp, construction is underway on a new roller coaster known as “Project 90011,” which has been characterised as a suspended “Thrill Glider Coaster.” Developed by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, this ride represents yet another thrilling addition to the park’s expanding roster of attractions.
As Six Flags Magic Mountain prepares for this significant redevelopment, guests are encouraged to stay informed through the park’s official communication channels. With a commitment to enhancing the visitor experience, the park is set to deliver unforgettable adventures for families and fans of all ages.
