Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has announced an exciting return of its beloved Holiday in the Park events at two of its prominent parks, following last year’s cancellation. This winter, guests can look forward to a completely revamped experience at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, and Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia.

The annual festive celebration, set to delight visitors this year, is promised to be “completely redesigned from the ground up.” According to a recent press release, attendees will be immersed in “living holiday storybooks” featuring three themed areas filled with regional charm. This shift is part of a larger strategy aimed at enhancing guest experiences and is expected to see additional immersive lands introduced in subsequent years.
Alongside the enchanting landscapes, visitors can expect a wealth of festive entertainment, including indoor shows featuring live music, vibrant parade floats, carolers, and celebratory tree lighting ceremonies. The parks will be buzzing with activities for the whole family, promoting community spirit and creating lasting memories.
Guests of all ages will have the opportunity to partake in interactive experiences like cookie decorating, gingerbread house building, and a unique indoor walkthrough attraction. Seasonal photo opportunities, including a chance to meet Santa Claus, will further enrich the festive atmosphere, ensuring memories are captured during the visit.
Culinary enthusiasts will also be catered to, with special tasting menus created by the parks’ executive chefs showcasing holiday-themed offerings. This focus on food combined with entertainment adds to the overall festive ambience, providing visitors with a holistic experience.
In a bid to cater for thrill-seekers, the parks will also ensure that rides—including thrilling coasters and family attractions—remain operational during the holiday celebration. Specific details regarding the schedule, including opening dates, hours, and ride availability, are yet to be disclosed; however, the company is keen to optimise visitor enjoyment during both daytime and evening festivities.
The forthcoming multi-year investment will not only introduce new immersive lands in 2026 but will also ensure continual enhancements to the event in the years that follow. John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, stated, “We heard our guests loud and clear. Holiday in the Park has long been a cornerstone event at these properties, and we’ve taken everything we’ve learned to thoughtfully evolve the experience.”
The reintroduction of this cherished holiday tradition marks a significant development for the company, reflecting its commitment to creating memorable family experiences. Reilly highlighted the intent to craft a “more intentional, more magical holiday celebration designed to delight all generations,” indicating an effort to provide something special for everyone.
Six Flags’ Holiday in the Park was absent from several parks last year, including at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. This year, the focus has shifted towards maximising guest experiences during the peak operational season, which typically spans spring through autumn.
As anticipation builds for the return of Holiday in the Park, guests are encouraged to keep an eye out for further updates, including specifics on schedules and activities. This year’s event promises to be a joyful return for families looking to celebrate the festive spirit, complete with thrilling rides, heartwarming activities, and an overall enchanting holiday experience.
