From April 28 until May 12, teachers and healthcare workers can enter a special sweepstakes aimed at recognising their invaluable contributions. Interested individuals can register via designated microsites: teacherthanks.chipotle.com for educators and healthcarethanks.chipotle.com for healthcare professionals. The initiative aims to support up to 100,000 winners from both categories, and Chipotle has planned to notify the selected participants starting May 13.

To claim their prize, winners will need to confirm their employment status through ID.me within a specified timeframe of 48 hours. Should selected participants fail to verify their eligibility, alternative winners will be chosen. The gift cards can be redeemed at Chipotle locations or via the app for a complimentary standard menu entrée item, which includes options like burritos, burrito bowls, three tacos, salads, or quesadillas.

Eligibility for the sweepstakes requires participants to be aged 18 or older and residents of the United States. The term ‘healthcare workers’ encompasses a broad range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and therapists, as well as technicians and nurse aides. In contrast, teachers must be actively employed in schools that serve students from kindergarten through to year 12 at the time of application.
A representative from Chipotle has emphasised that this initiative is part of their annual efforts to show appreciation during significant events like Teacher Appreciation Week, which is observed from May 4 to May 8, and National Nurses Week, which occurs from May 6 to May 12. The company has noted its strong commitment to recognising the hard work of teachers and medical staff, stating that their contributions are vital to the community.
Since launching this programme in 2016, Chipotle has given away more than $16 million in free food to educators and healthcare professionals, with participation reportedly reaching its highest levels in 2025. This initiative is designed not only to reward winners with complimentary meals but also to foster a spirit of gratitude towards those who play essential roles in society.
In addition to the sweepstakes, Chipotle is encouraging its customers to engage in the celebration actively. During National Nurses Week, customers can opt to round up their order totals through the app or the website as part of the Round-Up for Real Change initiative. The funds collected will be donated to the American Nurses Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting nurses and advancing their causes within the healthcare system.
Later in the year, a similar rounding-up feature will be available to back the Kids in Need Foundation, an organisation that provides vital resources and supplies to under-resourced schools. The initiative reflects Chipotle’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational and healthcare organisations, ensuring assistance for those who work tirelessly in the community.
Chipotle is no stranger to running promotional campaigns that provide free food or special offers for various occasions, such as celebrating National Burrito Day and offering deals to customers with tattoos on Friday the 13th. Through these efforts, the restaurant continues to connect with its patrons while making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
With the recent initiatives highlighting their commitment to social responsibility, Chipotle not only aims to show appreciation to its valued teachers and healthcare workers but also to inspire its customer base to contribute positively to their communities.
