A 27-year-old Michigan teacher has been sentenced to between four and 15 years in prison for engaging in sexual acts with a 16-year-old student. Jocelyn Sanroman, who was employed at Oakside Prep Academy in Waterford Township, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct earlier this year.

The case first came to light in June 2025 when Sanroman disclosed her illicit relationship with the student to a fellow educator. This colleague promptly alerted the authorities, leading to Sanroman’s arrest. Prosecutors charged her with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

And it’s just disgusting.”
