Fans of the critically acclaimed horror franchise, A Quiet Place, can anticipate the release of the third film, currently scheduled for July 2027. The franchise, known for its unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre, continues to generate excitement with its latest developments as lead actress Emily Blunt shares insights into her husband John Krasinski’s creative process.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Blunt, 43, provided an update on Krasinski, 46, who writes and directs the films. The couple, married since 2010, share two daughters, Hazel and Violet. Blunt revealed that Krasinski has taken to covering their home with Post-it notes as he diligently works on the script for the upcoming film. “He starts shooting really soon,” Blunt mentioned, hinting at the fast-approaching production schedule.

Krasinski’s method of organizing thoughts may be unconventional, with Blunt describing him as “one of these weird, sort of A Beautiful Mind people.” She added with a light-hearted tone, “He’s like that for months organising it, until the point where I’m like, ‘Please write this movie. Stop Post-it-ing our house.'”

The A Quiet Place franchise has captivated audiences since its first film released in 2018. In that film, Krasinski and Blunt portrayed a couple navigating life in a rural community after terrifying alien creatures have decimated most of humanity. Their children, played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, add depth to the family dynamic that drives the narrative. The first film notably culminated in a tragic moment with Krasinski’s character sacrificing himself, while the sequel, released in 2021, showcased Blunt’s character and her children finding sanctuary on an island, revealing an unexpected weakness of their monstrous foes — their inability to swim.
Expanding the series further, the third entry, titled Day One, had already explored the aliens’ initial arrival in New York City, featuring actress Lupita Nyong’o. Following the success of the previous films, Paramount Pictures confirmed in 2022 that they planned to develop another addition to the franchise. Krasinski affirmed his return as director, writer, and producer in August 2025, which marks a shift from his non-involvement in the Day One project.
When asked if she contributes ideas for the new film, Blunt expressed her preference to see Krasinski’s completed script first. “Sometimes he’ll pitch me an idea, but I’m not very good out of context,” she explained. Blunt appreciates Krasinski’s brilliance as a storyteller, admitting she is often in awe of his work. “I mean, he’s brilliant. I’m awestruck by it. He’s a freak,” she remarked, expressing her admiration for his talent.
Blunt also hinted at her personal hopes for the upcoming film, wishing for “slightly less action.” Reflecting on the physical demands of the previous movies, she divulged a light-hearted anecdote regarding her knees, noting how the intense scenes have taken a toll on her body. “There’s a lot of running in A Quiet Place 1. I had one bad knee before I started the franchise, and now I have two bad knees,” she outlined, adding a humorous touch about how a staged stumble worsened her condition. Blunt quipped, “So I’m sort of hoping to sit quietly in A Quiet Place III.”
Amidst her anticipation for the third film in the A Quiet Place series, Blunt is busy promoting her new project, The Devil Wears Prada 2, where she reunites with notable co-stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci. This sequel is expected to be released on May 1. Additionally, she will feature in Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming film, Disclosure Day, set to hit theatres on June 12.
With the new entry in the A Quiet Place saga set for release in June 2027, fans can look forward to more thrilling narratives and a glimpse into Krasinski’s creative vision while enjoying Blunt’s captivating performances in her upcoming roles.
