Paulina, 37, and Ryan, 35, met through a dating app and quickly bonded over their mutual interest in long-distance running. Their connection deepened as they trained together and supported one another in various races. Recently, they formalised their relationship with a courthouse wedding, with plans for a larger celebration set for August of this year.

“The marathon has always been a very strong part of our relationship,” Santoyo expressed in an interview. The significance of the Boston Marathon was even more pronounced for them, given that Ryan had qualified to participate in the race last year – coinciding with the couple’s wedding plans.

To mark the occasion, Santoyo donned a stunning white running outfit, complete with a long-sleeved top and a flirty skirt embellished with frills. Her look was complemented with white running shoes and matching socks, styled neatly with her hair braided and a chic short veil draping from it. Meanwhile, Foreman channelled his inner groom with a black long-sleeved shirt featuring a playful white bow print, coupled with black shorts and accessories.
As they navigated the 26.2-mile course, Paulina and Ryan captured memorable moments on camera, including a playful snapshot of Ryan lifting Paulina in a tender kiss amid the race. Their unique choice of attire drew attention from fellow runners and spectators alike, who offered cheers and shouted words of encouragement throughout the marathon. Among the light-hearted remarks, a few shouted “Runaway bride!” and “When’s the honeymoon?” prompting a chuckle from the couple.
Ryan engaged with spectators along the route, humorously soliciting their assistance to serve as his “best man.” “I feel like we got a lot more attention than I was expecting,” Santoyo remarked, reflecting on the vibrant atmosphere surrounding them.
The duo was fortunate enough to meet friends at mile 25, where they seized the moment to toast their achievement with a celebratory beer, reminiscent of a bachelor party ritual. “It felt like a fitting way to celebrate alongside friends as we approached the finish line,” Foreman joked.
Running has been a constant thread weaving through their relationship from the onset, and the couple credits it with shaping their lifestyle together. Foreman had even contemplated proposing to Santoyo at the finish line of the previous Boston Marathon, but ultimately decided against it due to the physical demands of the race. Before their wedding plans were finalised, he took the opportunity to seek permission from her parents to marry her during a brunch outing in Wellesley Hills, just prior to cheering her on.
As the couple looks ahead to their larger wedding celebration in August, they reflect fondly on their marathon adventure as a poignant symbol of their shared journey — both as runners and partners. For Paulina and Ryan, the Boston Marathon was not just a race; it was an extraordinary celebration of their love, commitment, and the life they have built together.
This remarkable story serves as a testament to the idea that the strongest relationships thrive on shared passions, and in this case, running has proven to be the perfect metaphor for their enduring partnership.
