Emma Chamberlain, the popular social media influencer, has announced an indefinite hiatus from her podcast, “Anything Goes”. The 24-year-old content creator shared this significant news in a candid 17-minute video titled “Bittersweet”, which she uploaded to her YouTube channel on 23 April 2023. In her video, Chamberlain expressed a mix of emotions, stating that she felt “awkward” about delivering what she described as “serious” news to her audience. She candidly revealed, “I am taking a little podcast break. I don’t know how long the break’s going to be. I wish I had answers for you. I don’t have answers for you. I’m taking an indefinite podcast break.”
Acknowledging the potential disappointment some of her fans might feel, she reassured them that her decision does not stem from burnout or dissatisfaction. “It did kind of come out of left field. However, it has been something I’ve been ruminating on for a while,” Chamberlain explained. She referred to an “aha moment” she experienced about a month ago, which prompted her to understand the necessity of stepping away from her podcasting duties.

Chamberlain labelled her decision as “bittersweet” and clarified that she does not view it as a negative change. She emphasized that this choice is motivated by inspiration rather than frustration. “I’m making this decision because I know it’s time to grow and evolve and restructure,” she remarked, acknowledging the fear associated with taking a step back from something that is currently successful. “When something’s working, it is not necessarily intuitive to say, ‘Okay, now I’m going to take a break and go back to the drawing board,'” Chamberlain noted.
Reflecting on her work life, Chamberlain confessed that her previous structure was not serving her well. “Even beyond this podcast, the way that I was structuring my work life was not working for me,” she admitted, emphasising her intent to make necessary changes before re-entering the industry with renewed clarity and vision.
Despite the hiatus from her podcast, Chamberlain reassured her followers that she would remain active online. She hinted at potentially refocusing her efforts on her personal YouTube channel and Instagram, where she feels most passionate about visual storytelling. “While I love podcasting, my ultimate love and passion is in visual entertainment,” she asserted.
This announcement comes shortly after Chamberlain made her feature film debut in the horror-comedy “Forbidden Fruits”, where she appeared alongside notable young actors such as Lili Reinhart and Lola Tung. In addition to her endeavours in film, she continues to be the founder of Chamberlain Coffee, a brand she has cultivated diligently, and recently partnered with West Elm on a curated furniture collection.
Emma Chamberlain has made a significant impact in the realms of social media and entertainment, and her decision to take a break is seen as a wise step towards personal and professional growth. As she embarks on this period of reflection and adjustment, her fans and followers will undoubtedly be eager to see how she evolves during her time away from podcasting.
