Singer D4vd, known off-stage as David Burke, has been charged with murder in connection with the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The case has garnered significant media attention, especially since the young girl’s remains were discovered in a disturbing manner in September 2025.
Rivas Hernandez was found in two separate bags in the boot of a Tesla that is registered to Burke. According to a detailed report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the teenager suffered multiple penetrating injuries to her torso. The coroner’s findings indicate that her death has been ruled a homicide, having resulted from severe trauma caused by two deep wounds to her abdomen and chest.

The autopsy revealed significant injuries: one wound was inflicted to the right side of the abdomen, damaging her liver, while the second pierced her upper left chest, fracturing surrounding ribs in the process. Toxicology tests carried out on her liver tissue revealed a low level of ethanol; however, authorities have suggested that this finding may relate either to postmortem changes or ingestion prior to her death, and not as a factor in her demise.
In addition to the torso injuries, the report described disturbing evidence of dismemberment, with Rivas’s upper and lower extremities being found severed. The findings also highlighted various skin defects and noted that she was clad in a tube top, underwear, leggings, and socks at the time of discovery. Notably, a tattoo inscribed with “Shhh…” was identified on her right index finger, which was found to be the same tattoo Burke had displayed in a photo taken in September 2024.
Local authorities were alerted to the car’s presence at a tow yard on September 8, 2025, when reports of a foul odour emanating from the vehicle began to circulate. The car was impounded and subsequently led to the grim discovery of Rivas’s remains – just one day before her 15th birthday.
Burke now faces multiple serious charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently being held without the possibility of bail as the case unfolds.
The preliminary hearing for Burke is set for April 23, 2026, which marks the anniversary of Rivas’s alleged murder. Legal experts anticipate that the upcoming proceedings will reveal further details surrounding the circumstances of the teenager’s death and the evidence against the singer.
The case has sparked outrage and has resonated deeply within the local community and beyond. Many are calling for justice for Rivas, urging authorities to provide thorough and transparent updates as the investigation proceeds.
Additionally, the family of Celeste Rivas has expressed their devastation over the loss, launching a crowdfunding campaign through platforms such as GoFundMe to support funeral costs and raise awareness of their tragic situation. The community has rallied around them, demanding accountability and justice.
As the legal process continues, many are left grappling with the chilling nature of the crime and its impact on the lives of those connected to Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The outcome of this case is poised to capture the attention of the nation, as reporters and audience members remain eager for developments in this heartbreaking story.
