Barbie Ferreira, celebrated for her role as Kat Hernandez in the acclaimed television series *Euphoria*, has taken the opportunity to reflect on her evolving sense of style over the years. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the actress shared insights at the opening of the Damson Madder pop-up store in Los Angeles, where she donned an elegant olive green midi dress from the brand. Ferreira, now 29, acknowledged the changes she has experienced in her fashion choices since entering the industry at the age of 21.

“During childhood, it’s all about experimenting with different outfits,” Ferreira remarked. “Now, I have a clearer idea of my preferences and tend to experiment within those boundaries.” Expressing how her style has become more sophisticated, she noted that her current looks are more refined compared to her earlier days on the red carpet.
In her formative appearances on red carpets for *Euphoria*, Ferreira often mirrored the journey of her character through bold choices, frequently incorporating elements like mesh and latex in her wardrobe. Recently, however, her style has maintained a fun spirit while adopting a more tailored aesthetic. One example includes her choice of striking trompe-l’œil heels with a corseted snakeskin dress by Dilara Findikoglu, which she showcased at the premiere of *Faces of Death*.

At the Damson Madder event, Ferreira opted for a softer look. “I was drawn to the colour, and I really wanted to try the scarf,” she commented, expressing her passion for the brand. She revealed her fondness for the label’s apparel, having previously enjoyed their pajamas and short-sleeve dresses.
Ferreira’s extraordinary taste in fashion has also led to memorable moments on the red carpet. Notably, her bright cobalt blue gown from the recent Oscars, custom-designed by Gap’s Zac Posen, stands out as her favourite look to date. Reflecting on her appreciation for fashion, she described the gown as “the most beautiful dress I’ve ever seen.”
While the 2023 Met Gala approaches, Ferreira remained tight-lipped about her upcoming ensemble, but she did share insights regarding her wardrobe for her role in the forthcoming film, *Mile End Kicks*. The film, directed by Chandler Levack, follows a 24-year-old music writer who becomes romantically involved with members of an indie band. To prepare, Ferreira researched the early 2010s period, immersing herself in the creative milieu of Montreal during filming.
“Chandler provided me with various resources, including articles from her time as a music journalist, which helped me get into character,” Ferreira explained. “We collaborated extensively, and I even wore some of Chandler’s personal T-shirts alongside items from American Apparel, ensuring a period-appropriate look.”
In a notable turn, Ferreira did not return for the third season of *Euphoria*, a decision she elaborated on in a recent podcast appearance, citing that Kat’s storyline had reached a standstill. When speculating about what her character might be doing now, she optimistically suggested that Kat might be pursuing a college education, reflecting on her own path and experiences.
Despite not being part of this latest season, which began airing on April 12, Ferreira expressed her enthusiasm for the series. “I haven’t caught up yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone does,” she said, acknowledging her fondness for her fellow cast members.
Throughout her career thus far, Barbie Ferreira’s journey in fashion has been a reflection of her growth both professionally and personally. She continues to inspire many with her authenticity and creativity while adapting her style to reflect her maturity as she progresses in the industry. With each appearance and project, Ferreira proves that her fashion choices are more than mere clothes; they are an expression of her identity and a portrayal of her evolving artistic journey.
