Red Lobster, the well-known seafood restaurant chain, is bringing back its Endless Shrimp offer after a two-year hiatus, responding to a resurgence of demand from customers. This offer will be available at select locations starting on April 20, 2026, according to a statement released by the company.
The revival of the Endless Shrimp deal comes on the heels of a tumultuous period for Red Lobster. In May 2024, the chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection framed by financial woes linked, in part, to the popularity of its Endless Shrimp promotion. Reports suggested that the company incurred an $11 million loss during the third quarter of 2023, exacerbated by declining customer traffic after making the promotion a permanent fixture on its menu the previous June.

In light of these struggles, the company had to make tough decisions, including the closure of numerous locations across the United States. The bankruptcy filing revealed the chain had over 100,000 creditors and estimated liabilities ranging from $1 billion to $10 billion. This drastic situation was underscored by the announcement from the Thai Union Group Plc, which had acquired Red Lobster in 2021, that it would be withdrawing its financial support citing negative contributions to its fiscal health.
In a turn of events, Red Lobster aims to pivot its operations. A spokesperson indicated that the company is concentrating on “operational improvements” and exploring opportunities to sell part of its business. While negotiating this shift, Red Lobster confirmed that existing restaurants would remain open during its restructuring phase.

The Endless Shrimp promotion, which has been a hallmark of Red Lobster’s menu for over two decades, is highly regarded by customers. In announcing the relaunch, CEO Damola Adamolekun conveyed the company’s commitment to enhancing customer experience, stating, “This is about putting our guests first and bringing back something they truly love.” He further hinted at the strategic adjustments implemented by the chain, ensuring the promotion’s sustainability within the current market conditions.
The revamped deal will offer diners not only unlimited shrimp but also a complimentary side. Patrons can enjoy four classic shrimp dishes, which include Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Walt’s Favourite Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp. Additionally, the menu will feature a new creation called Marry Me Shrimp, a dish inspired by an internet favourite, which includes shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce topped with a garlic-herb crumb, adding a contemporary twist to the classic offering.
Last year saw a shift in the shrimp promotion format. The Ultimate Endless Shrimp offer was replaced with the Ultimate SpendLESS Shrimp deal, which provided diners with a single plate of assorted shrimp dishes at a set price of £15.99. Adamolekun described the transition as a necessary step towards a more sustainable and financially viable model, although he maintained a focus on delivering value and quality to customers.
As Red Lobster reintroduces the Endless Shrimp promotion, it seeks to reconnect with its fan base and regain the trust of diners who had supported the chain through its challenging times. The company appears keen to refocus its strategy on customer preferences while navigating the residual effects of its recent financial turmoil.
As the industry watches closely, it remains to be seen whether this decision to reinstate the Endless Shrimp will yield the desired uplift in customer traffic and profitability for Red Lobster. The seafood restaurant chain’s future may hinge on the success of this initiative, as it attempts to reclaim its position in the competitive dining landscape.
