A professional cornhole player has been indicted on serious charges, including first-degree murder, following a shooting incident that occurred in La Plata, Maryland. Dayton Webber, a 27-year-old quadruple amputee, is alleged to have shot and killed Bradrick Michael Wells during a dispute while driving. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported that after the incident, Webber reportedly fled the scene with Wells still in the vehicle.

Authorities reported that Wells’ body was discovered in a nearby yard approximately two hours after the shooting took place. Following the incident, Webber was apprehended in Charlottesville, Virginia, on 23 March. He subsequently waived his right to an extradition hearing on 26 March, allowing him to return to Maryland to face the charges against him.
The case was subsequently forwarded to Charles County Circuit Court, where a grand jury on 10 April indicted Webber on several counts. These include not only first-degree murder but also the use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, possessing a handgun in a vehicle, along with recklessly endangering others.
